Review 1 of 86

Price Paid:  $16000.00 from Mahowald's in New Pr

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Prizm

Strengths:
Super reliable. Plus we have a hitch and it can haul a fully enclosed snowmobile trailer. Just right for a family of 4.

Weaknesses:
After 7 years, it has a bit of rust at the bottom.

Summary:
Our Prizm still gets 35 MPG with NO major mechanical problems ever. We gave it a full tune up at 75,000. Currently has 120,000.
Too bad they stopped making them. Our 15 year old son will inherit it in 2010.

Review 2 of 86

Price Paid:  $10000.00 from Newton's

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Chevrolet Prizm

Strengths:
Great gas milage. Smooth riding. Starts right off.

Weaknesses:
I'm on my 3rd battery. Best for shorter people. After multiple uses, CD repeat button quits. Sadly, no longer made.

Summary:
Great handling car, rides smoothly, like it thinks it is a bigger car than it really is. This is my first car that I've ever bought. I rarely have to go fill-up the tank and it has never had major work on it yet. I bought it used. If you are a college student or a person who is just starting out in life and want a dependable ride, that's not expensive, and easy to keep get the Prizm. Body by Chevy, engine etc. by Toyota. You can really tell with the gas milage and handling that it is a Toyota in Chevy clothes. I have one with all the bells and whistles on it. I feel safe driving the car. The seats have to be pushed all the way back for my tall friends but I'm just 5'2" so it is a comfortable car. My only complaint thus far is that I'm now on my 3rd battery, I had the one it came with replaced, and have now had to replace the replacement.

Review 4 of 86 , from Dayton, OH

Price Paid:  $14000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Chev Prizm

Strengths:
Fuel economy (Hi 30's). Seating for a larger person (I'm 6'). Performance is good, with the manual transmission (this 1.8L engine will rev!) Transmission shifts well, nice for a front wheel drive. Trunk is reasonable size, I can fit the snow board and boots and poles in!

Weaknesses:
Handling is a weakness but not horrible. Styling is decent and not a trend-setter.

Summary:
I bought the car new and it is doing exactly what I bought it for, economy and reliability with the ability to seat 4 to 5 people if needed. If you looking for a modest car with these characteristics, look no further. THIS CAR HAS MANY BASIC STRENGTHS AND NO STRONG WEAKNESSES. I have added a hitch for a small trailer, and a roof rack for skiis. The add-on alum. wheels I bought for $300 really helped styling.

Review 5 of 86 , from Garden City, NY, USA

Price Paid:  $14000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Prizm

Strengths:
Solid, reliable, nice looks, excellent fuel economy, very nimble.

Weaknesses:
Rear seat a bit cramped.

Summary:
This car is esentially a Toyota Corolla with a Chevy badge on it. It's a great little car, don't let others tell you otherwise. So far I've had no problems after 6 months of ownership and to be honest I don't anticipate any.
