Review 2 of 98

Price Paid:  $6999.00 from Pride Auto

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Daewoo Lanos

Strengths:
Good Gas mileage

Weaknesses:
expensive parts and low resale value.

Summary:
Please do not rebuy this ca. These cars may run great, but when they tear up it is a hassle to fix them. they have had recalls and i have to drive 2 hours just to find a dealership that carries the parts. My timing belt recently broke and it bent my valves I am left with no value or use of my car and I cannot find the parts to fix it. If you own one of these vehichles please get rid of it ASAP. a regular thermostat for any other car costs $5 Bucks or so, but for the Lanos they cost $45 bucks.

Pick up is good, gas mileage is great, interior, exterior is very sporty. Nice radio & AC.

Weaknesses:

Review 4 of 98

Price Paid:  $10000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Lanos

Strengths:
Nimble and roomy for its size. Good gaz mileage. Excelent sticker price. Good job from Ital design. Many possible improvements for someone who wants to make that car a street demon.

Weaknesses:
No Tachometer. You will have to instal one. Only few after market performance parts. Will need a more powerful engine for those who like Hp. Not able to lock the driver''s door from the inside, or open the trunk without the key. But all those weaknesses are only there because I did not want to pay more for a car.

Summary:
It is an inexpensive car, and that is the bottom line. But what you get for that price is plaintyful. You get a nice looking little car. Handle just fine. the p/s is quick, but it seams weebly at higher speed. The engine is a bit slugish at low rpm, until you get to 5000rpm, then you can feel it. The gaz mileage is totally acceptable. The finish is as good as my last 1998 Subaru.

Review 5 of 98

Price Paid:  $13000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Lanos S AT

Strengths:
Nice litter car, best in its class at a very good price.

Weaknesses:
Only 96 hp Max (105 to 120 would have been better!) Some cheap material used for interior but kind of similar to other Korean cars. Can’t lock the driver side door from inside (a strange safety feature!)

Summary:
Very nice good looking car with great handling, can make complete turn quickly almost anywhere, very litter noise in the cabin compared to my previous car. Good power for a 1.5cc engine size. If you condition this car well especially during its first 3000-KM (go slowly on the break and the engine) and do the regular maintenance every 3000KM this car will keep you happy!
