$30000.00
from Carl Gregory Honda
Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 Accord EX
Summary: Worsed car I have ever owned! Electronics
suck and the ACM is worthless. Steering
is unfriendly and dangerous. Don't bother
getting Navigation package---you'll get
lost. Hands free link will take you to
'dropped call paradise".
Strengths: None over the competition
Weaknesses: New design with "big bugs"

Summary: We bought this vehicle from a older woman we knew for years. She had bought it new and took it to a dealership for all its scheduled maintenances. It had the 3.0L V6 and the auto tranny. We bought it at 85,000 miles and it proceeded to fall apart on us over the next 15,000 miles until we sold the piece of crap. The following are all the problems we noticed in the short 15,000 miles we owned the car.
1= There was an intermittent no start condition, somewhere in the starter relay.
2=The transmission was about to die, shifting was rough and delayed. Any time you went to wide open throttle, it would tap the rev limmiter before it shifted to second gear.
3=The drivers door trim panel near the window just flew off one day while driving down the freeway. Thereafter the interior wind noise was terrible.
4=The rear window defroster did not work. Though this may have been bad before we bought the car.
5=One headlight bulb went out.
6=The alignment had to be done twice in the 15,000 miles we had it because it was eating the inside tread patch on both front tires. But Honda's arent built with fully adjustable alignments so there was only so much they could do.
7=The radio had a few buttons which didn't work.
8=The keyless entry did not work half the time, and it wasnt just a battery.
9=The check engine light in the dashboard went out, and had to be repaired in order to get it inspected.
10=The hand shifter lost the mounting screws and fell apart. We had to use a pen to be able to engage out of drive.
All the problems from 85,000 to 100,000, and we got rid of the car. This was our first and last honda product.
Strengths: it drove well, and had good brakes
Weaknesses: reliability
gas mileage(22mpg on freeway, 16-18 around town)

Summary: The Honda Accord is a reliable and economical vehicle. Unlike the Civic, the Accord is bigger and more luxurious with a 6 CD changer, fingertip audio and cruise control, access friendly climate and radio switches, 16 inche alloy wheels, and a powerful engine all available from the EX package. The 4 cylinder 2.4 liter iVtec (K24A1) engine pumps out 160 hp and 161 ft lbs of torque making it a formidable street machine while keeping a clean, "grown up" image. Performance is great but could be better due to the 6,500 rpm redline and 5,000 rpm iVtec engagement. Overall, its a great vehicle for the young and old.
Strengths: Powerful yet economical (28 city 32 highway).
Weaknesses: Coupe is cramped in rear.

I drove a Civic for nearly a decade before trading up to the Accord, and it is definitely a step up in comfort, power and ergonomics. The cockpit is awesome with very simple utilitarian controls. The plastic pieces on the door have started to come unglued a bit, which is a mild bummer. The seats are uncomfortable. Not unbearable, but not very comfortable either. Plenty of room in the backseat for my homies to roll. The drivers side window motor is dodgy, and I sense that it will need replacing. I had the same problem with the Civic, so maybe it's a Honda issue.
Decent mpg, but not great. I got the 4cyl, so i expected better, but I get in the low 20s with a lot of city driving.
The brakes are way to grabby. I mean, you WILL have to get used to the brakes. I talked to two mechanics about this issue; one of them actually looked at the entire brake system and found nothing wrong. Both mechanics said they have heard similar complaints from Accord owners.
Great power for a 4cyl. It was a dream moving from my little baby Civic to the unbridled raw power of the Accord. A "normal" driver should eschew the 6cyl; the 4cyl is power enough, even in a traffic-heavy frenetic city like Dallas.
The A/C is a bit weak. Not terrible, but not great.
A fair amount or road noise, but coming from the rolling tornadic-wind-on-wheels of my old Civic, the Accord is relatively quiet.
Bottom line: it's a Honda, so it's gonna be a good investment. Just buy used!
Strengths: Great power, good ergonomic instrument design.
