Review 1 of 257

Price Paid:  $3200.00 from Long Island

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Hyundai Elantra

Summary:
Bought the car used in 2005 with about Gray car with gray cloth interior at 70K miles in good condition. Have used it quite a bit over the years. Have some dings on it. I learned manual on it. My first car. I was around 23.
I like this car. Not a status symbol and rather modest. But, its fairly reliable for whatever I do. But peppy and generally inexpensive to have and maintain.

Strengths:
Good mileage 24-34 mpg. Reliable. Comfortable. Good a/c heating. No major problems defects aside from normal maintanence. Fun to drive. Trunk space and folding seats a plus as time to time I do need those. People in the back tend to sleep so those seats must be comfortable enough. Decent exterior appearance.

Weaknesses:
Short steering and/or short stopping may be a weakness. It's never done me bad in the few close calls. But it definitely would not be a strong point on this car. Safe driving does mitigate this. I wouldn't trust the car to be 100% in handling. Stock car stereo not the greatest but good enough.

Review 2 of 257

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 Elantra

Summary:
I have had three Hyundai Elantras and they have been great. No complaints, otherwise I would not have continued to buy them. The one I currently have was bought in 1999 and it is still functioning Great. I am currently planning on buying a new version.

Strengths:
The warranty Hyundai offers. It's great, specially for women.

Weaknesses:
The window motors tend to die within a period of 2 years, but other than than, I cannot think of any.

Review 4 of 257

Price Paid:  $11500.00 from Woodchester Kia

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Elantra VE 5Dr

Summary:
Good car. Did tons of research and chose this over the Civic (wanted a change), Corolla and Mazda 3 (all too expensive). Car rides well. Very happy with it. Would buy another one in a heartbeat. Can't beat the price.

Strengths:
Cheapest out of all cars in it's class and comes with every option you need (except for the ABS). Doesn't drive like a cheap car, solidly built. Good trunk space. Great value new or used.

Weaknesses:
Fuel efficiency is not the best. If you drive a lot, this may not be the car for you. If you want to sell or trade it, you won't get good value as the car is still not seen as being 'high quality', even though it is.
