Review 1 of 118

Price Paid:  $15900.00 from Waynesburg Ohio

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 awd verstrek

Strengths:
room, style all the extras and gas mileage

Weaknesses:
none to be said as of yet

Summary:
Hello I just purchased an Aztec. I heavily researched it prior to purchase. The complaints on all the reviews I have read on this site are mostly from 2001-2002 model years. My father in law is a GM mechanic he has always said do not buy a vehichle the first few years it is out obviously he is right. He rarely has worked on the 2003-2005 models he states. He would have not let me purchase this vehichle if he had. I love it, the space and all the extras that it comes equipped with are wonderful not to mention the price. My husband does say it is the ugliest thing on the car lot but he'll get used to it I'm sure. I used to think they were ugly too. My 4 year old loves it and so do I, if i do have problems I will state them on this site but for now It's the best thing I have ever gotten.

Review 3 of 118

Price Paid:  $22500.00 from Cocord MA

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Aztek Versatrack

Strengths:
Looks cool. It's comfortable

Weaknesses:
Lots! IT DOES NOT LAST! Poor inside lighs. Wide blind spots. Expensive for the quality.

Summary:
Yes, the car looks cool and it's comfortable but the quality leaves a lot to be dsired. I have 78.000 miles on my car and I spent over $1500 in the last 2-3 months fixing this and that. It makes a horible noise and I just have been told that a piece from the transmission needs to be replaced (cost over $3000) - basically not worth fixing. The car won't be worth much if I trade it in and I still have a loan to pay (I have about 15-18 months to pay n it). If you buy this car with the intention to change it at about 60.000 miles then go for it. If you hope it will last you more than 4 years foget it! Get another car

Review 4 of 118

Price Paid:  $11069.00 from Brew Honda, Longview

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Pontiac

Strengths:
Fairly decent gas mileage,
Good, sporty looks (my girlfriend calls it "sexy"),
Lots of power for a V6
Cargo space

Weaknesses:
Quirky rear hatch,
Rough ride,
Not enough neck support in front seats

Summary:
I probably should have waited a while to write my review, but I have owned my Aztek for three weeks and I absolutely love it. Of course, I really havn't drove it enough to see if it's going to have any problems, but nonetheless I really like it.

I bought it three years old with 29,115 miles. It's obvious that the previous owners took very good care of it just by looking at it. No scratches or anything on the exterior and despite a few spots and scuffs on the inside, it looks new.

So far, there's only a few gripes I have about it. Firstly, the car rides a little rough, and since I live on a gravel (i.e., dirt) road, I have to drive significantly slower in order to keep from flying through the windshield. Actually, this might be a blessing in disguise, as it encourages me to drive slower and take it easy on the car (which needs to last me a long time!).

Secondly, sometimes when I get in the car and turn it on, the REAR HATCH AJAR light will come on for no reason and I have to open and close the rear hatch to make it go off. But I can live with this. Besides, any car with a lot of electrical gadgetry is bound to have a few flaws.

Thirdly, I have to push the button twice on the kepad to open the back hatch: once to open, and a second time to unlock it and then I have to open it within three seconds. Again, no reason to have the car repossessed.

Fourthly, that darn spoiler in the back is such a nuisance. It makes for a huge blind spot and I have to use my mirrors a lot.

And lastly, the cargo storage areas in the back look good from away, but upon closer inspection, you can see the designers used low quality plastic and storage covering panels that takes away from the car's value.

Review 5 of 118

Price Paid:  $18000.00 from Balconi's

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Pontiac Aztec AWD

Strengths:
Lots really. The car handles great, get's halfway decent gas mileage, decent acceleration, TONS of room for the size, all in all it's just a fun car.

Weaknesses:
see summary

Summary:
I've owned my Aztec for nearly 6 months now and I have 28000 miles on it. I had been pretty psyched about the car and it's functionality. However, today I spent $300 replacing brake pads and rotors. This struck me as odd. The repair shop told me they had been noticing that the aztecs were frying pads and rotors very quickly. Sucks for me, those aren't covered under warranty. The rear hatch is quirky. Now that weather has warmed, it seems to be working as intended - but the darn 3 second safety-lock delay is the most ridiculous idea ever conceived. I've gotton some strange looks running from the switch to the hatch in the parking lot when I don't have the remote in hand. AWD is mostly great. However, if you manage to spin the wheels with the engine cold, the AWD will cut out to prevent overheating. Not sure how it could be overheating since I've only had it in drive for 8 seconds and it's 16 below zero... but whatever. Other imperfections... the gas cap just doesn't really seem to seal the tank... in order lift the wiper blades you need to turn them on and cut power with them in mid motion... the rear window collects snow faster than the rear defrost can melt it... blind spots are everywhere - but I knew that when I bought it...
