from Toyota of Orange, CA Year / Model Reviewed: 2007 Yaris, 4 door sedan AT Strengths: gas mileage, no blind spots, handles well, looks great, runs perfect Weaknesses: mild cab noise, a/c makes engine rattle, needs more storage compartments. Summary: Gosh, I love this car. I have had this car since Feb 2007 and it's been wonderful. I'm no expert, I'm your average 40 year old single woman. I drive 8 mi one way to work, 14 mi one way to church, around town, nothing exciting. I usually buy and drive a 2-door coupe with a manual transmission, but this time decided to "grow up" and get an automatic 4-door. I've had Hondas (civic, prelude) mostly in the past, but also a VW. But this was my first brand new Toyota. Honestly, I've never been happier with a car. I have not had one problem mechanically. It runs like a top! I do get regular oil changes and keep her in good shape (tires inflated, washed every week, etc.) and seriously have not had one problem or complaint with how she runs or rides.
The blind spots are non-existent, she's easy to handle and park, she's so roomy inside with plenty of comfort for 5 people and lots of trunk space. I'm even happy with the instrument panel being in the center of the dash, which sorta took me a while to adjust to. I think she looks slick and modern and very sexy! I'm extremely happy with this car.
If I had to find things to consider a "con", there are a few. When on my bluetooth or speaker phone and driving on the fwy it's hard for my callers to hear me as there is a bit of cab noise. Not terrible, though. And I'd love it if there were more than just the two little compartments on either side of the front middle section and the little armrest cubby between the driver and passenger. The air conditioner vents are sometimes hard to position so I feel it. And with the air on, it's best to put the car in neutral as the engine rattles lightly occasionally when sitting at a light or through the drive through. But overall, great car and I love her.
