The Jetta Sedan is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 6 trims, ranging from the S to the SEL PZEV.
The S is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I5, 170-horsepower engine. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The SEL PZEV is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I5, 170-horsepower engine that achieves 22-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

Summary: The Carefree Maintenance Program was the best thing they could have added to their 2009 models - 3 years or 36000 miles- i love that because im the type of person who would wait till the last minute to take my car to get serviced but now since its included i dont have any excuses,
Strengths: A lot of the features that you usually have to pay extra for on other cars are included on the Jetta - Heated Seats(on cloth or leather)now that's HOT and the Auxiliary Input Jack- everyone has a Ipod now - (except me) but im going to get one
Weaknesses: The engine is a little loud,back seat is a little tight but i dont have to sit back there LOL, Large trunk

Summary: I bought my car new a few months ago, and so far I love it!!!! It is so much car for the money,and drives wonderfully on icy Minnesota roads.
Strengths: I love all the features on the car, very impressive interior, and drives great.
Weaknesses: none, I love it!

Summary: The car rocks. The price was awesome. I have the 5 speed manual and with 2000 miles it gets better everyday. It looks SO MUCH MORE expensive then it is.
I will update at about 10000 miles!
Strengths: 70mph, 5th gear at 3000RPM I am just starting to hit peak torque!
Weaknesses: Car wants to speed and thus easy to burn extra petrol.

Year / Model Reviewed: 2006 Jetta TDI with DSG
Summary: This is the best car I have owned in a long while. Fabulous diesel engine coupled to an outstanding DSG transmission. New independent rear suspension is a great improvement over the 2005 model. Large trunk and plenty of space inside the cabin. I have cloth seats which are very comfortable even after long trips - seats are well shaped. Steering wheel, controls and finish are excellent with everything in the right place. VW really listened to the complaints of the previous model. Would definitely buy again.
Strengths: Fuel economy. Pleasing to drive with torquey engine. Smooth, quiet ride. Excellent suspension control.
Weaknesses: Plastic pieces tend to rattle at certain temperatures.

Summary: Anyone even contemplating buying a new or used VW should absolutely READ THIS...to avoid the horrible nightmare that I am dealing with right now!!!
Strengths: NONE
Weaknesses: Within one month of buying this car new (purchase..not leased)the whole 5-speed transmission failed on a busy highway in Scottsdale. I had barely 2,000 miles on the car and had to wait 3 hours in 115 degree heat for a tow. Berge VW of Gilbert examined the car and told me it would not be covered under warranty because of excessive wear on the clutch! What a crock of ...!!! After much haggling the supervisor called me 2 hours and said they would cover the repairs under warranty. Last friday the same thing happpend in exactly almost the same way with this car. Now the manager Chapman VW of Scottsdale said that it would not be covered under warranty and that the repairs would come to $2,425. I tried to call VW headquarters about this nightmare lemon I was sold and no response.
VW's are assembled in Mexico and apparently there is a serious lack of quality control! Also, VW does not honor its warranty and could care less about customer satisfaction!!!!!
I have owned 5 speed manuals all driving life and have never encountered such a nightmare as this car....BEWARE BUYER.. OR YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN THE SAME BOAT SOONER OR LATER...PROBABLY SOONER!!
