Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 warner brothers edition
Strengths: lots of room, tv/dvd for kids, built in car seat, low maitenance
Weaknesses: the only thing i can think of is it blows blinker lightbulbs more often
Summary: this van has been extremely reliable and useful. i bought it because i needed extra seating when i opened my daycare. it has a great built in car seat, seats fold down for a ton of extra cargo room. i have only had to replace brakes and tires and it has 98800 miles on it. i thought that i would never buy a mini van, but i have to admit i like it.

Price Paid:
$20800.00
from Conyers GA
Year / Model Reviewed: 2005 LT
Strengths: The price - got almost $12000 off the ridiculous sticker price of over 32,000. Also good: DVD player, fold-down third seat, XM radio
Weaknesses: tires lasted only 25K miles, lots of cheap plastic, I'm scared about the future since the reviews suggest imminent problems - I heard the head gasket problem is fixed by 2004 (I hope)
Summary: So far OK. Have had the van for a year and a half and driven the heck out of it - about 40K miles. Both front bearings went out and the tie rod ends, too. Both covered under warranty. Good gas mileage and comfortable ride overall.
Similar Products Used: first minivan - I wanted Honda but would have to pay about $10,000 more for all the features I got on the chevy

Summary: Strange problems from the beginning, power passenger door just stops working and then starts working again. Dealer has replaced the lock and weather-stripping, still does not work right. Weather-stripping has been replaced 2 other times and on order for a 3rd time. We have had water in the headlights since this van was new and the dealer states this is normal. Transmission started to slip after about 1 year, dealer stated nothing wrong. Brought the van back to the dealer 2 more time for the transmission and they stated that the driver was causing the transmission to slip by not warming up the vehicle or it was the traction control. Transmission problem continued to get worse, left the car with the dealer again and they sent it to a transmission shop, over $2600 to rebuild the 2 year old 34,000 mile transmission that had nothing wrong with it. This was still covered under warranty. The van has more rattle noise than loose change in a clothes dryer. Multiple times over the past 2 years we have smelled wires burning, but as usual not found to be wrong. Just had the brakes/tires done and found that the wheel hub and bearings were bad and had to be replaced. Now having problems with the non-power rear driver’s side door not closing as well as the power door not working again, they blame the weather-stripping again. The air conditioning does not always blow cold air and nothing has been found to be wrong. The original warranty runs out in just over 1000 miles and I do not know what is going to go wrong next. We wish we could get out of the vehicle, but we own more than it is worth. The buyout is more than the Kelly’s blue book price and we still have 2 years left on the smartbuy. There was nothing smart about this buy. We will never buy a Chevy again. I would rather spend
$8,000-10,000 more and buy a Honda or Toyota.

Strengths: handles well for a van
Stereo sounds great
gas mileage
comfortable and roomy for large family
Weaknesses: If pulled too far out, our cupholder will fall off.
Glove compartment latch broke
Summary: Maybe I'm "jinxing" myself, but we have loved our Venture. We've driven it hard, (it now has 85k miles on it), we live on dirt roads and have no rattle problems, and we've put $ out for only basic maint. like front brakes, tires, oil changes, etc. I searched for several months before deciding what minivan to buy. We wanted a Honda or Toyota, but we couldn't afford the price, and I think we made a great choice. I've never been a Chevy fan and can't promise that I'll buy another one - hopefully I won't have to worry about it for awhile!
