Description:
The 2011 Cadillac Escalade is offered with three distinct body styles and the Escalade Platinum models. The standard Escalade is complemented by the extended length ESV model and the innovative EXT model that features a reconfigurable cargo bed with a segment-exclusive midgate enabling the rear compartment to flex between passenger and cargo space.

Escalade Platinum is the highest expression of the brand’s dramatic design, luxury and technology. With features including segment-first LED headlamps and the world’s fastest-acting suspension, Magnetic Ride Control, it’s one of the most technically advanced vehicles in the segment.

Also available is the Escalade Hybrid, which delivers up to a 33-percent city fuel economy improvement without sacrificing the luxury features that define all Escalade models. A separate release outlining the Escalade Hybrid’s features is part of Cadillac’s 2011 product information.

CarReview's opinion of the: 2011 Cadillac Escalade

Pros:
  • Luxury look and feel
  • Four DVD screens accompany the three row interior making this a road tripper’s dream car
  • A luxury utility vehicle that can carry the entire family and more
Cons:
  • Underwhelming power for such a large SUV
  • Dated interior feel
  • Dated styling

Ruling: Overall, inside and out, the Cadillac does a great job of conveying a large, luxury image. There is no shortage of interior room and the overall proportions seem good for this large SUV market segment. But after the initial excitement of testing a large $88,295 Cadillac, came the lows of realizing just how old this model has really become. The driving experience is numb. The interior dash is clean, yet dated. And the exterior styling is definitely showing its age. The Vortec 6.2L motor, though quite powerful, seemed to still be not enough to move this heavy SUV.
