Review 1 of 110

Price Paid:  $7500.00 from Auto-Mart

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 Chevy Tracker 4x4 lsi

Summary:
I got this car 8 years ago. It has been an excellent car!! It has been through a lot, taken alot of crap, and still runs just as good as the day I bought it.. It has a pretty bad oil leak coming from the valve cover, but I just make sure that it has oil. Awesome first car.. Well worth the money!! I can get by with putting $10.00 in gas on Monday and making it through the week, and I drive 2 kids to seperate schools.. Great on gas!!

Strengths:
Great gas mileage, 4x4, interior

Weaknesses:
location of spare tire

Review 2 of 110

Price Paid:  $13900.00 from R. H. Lewis & Son

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Chevy Tracker 4door 4wd

Summary:
I've been happy with the Tracker, I needed a 4wd vehicle to get up my driveway easily in the winter and it does this, even in reverse! It has been reliable, the seats are super comfy, that's about all I want in a vehicle.

Strengths:
Fairly peppy 6-cylinder engine, great on snowy roads, looks fantastic for a 6-year old vehicle, its height may have saved my life when I hit a deer T-bone style. (if I'd been in my beloved Olds Ciera, it may have been hurled through the windshield)

Weaknesses:
It can really wobble (or feel like that) in relatively low wind on the highway. Do not overinflate your tires or handling is poor. I removed the rear headrests because they block the rear view too much. The spare tire also blocks some of the rear view, but it has to be somewhere, I guess!

Review 5 of 110

Price Paid:  $7000.00 from private

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 tracker 2 door convertible

Summary:
i bought my tracker in 2000, with 78000km, i now have 306000km, with comparitively little maintenance...regualar oil changes (5000km) one clutch, brakes, timing belt, front crank oil seal...clutch pedal weld...., one exhaust connecting pipe... I love this car......every time I get in to drive it, it is a real treat.....at 90kmh it feels good, enough that i don't need to go faster......good for my license....the longest trip was 1500km non stop other than gas, coffee and pit stops. The ride is a bit choppy, but i come from a hard tail Harley-Davidson background, so it's all good. Off road is a blast, the car is good value for the dollar, and reliable, all the time.

Strengths:
good on gas, it satisfies, easy to park, very compact, reliable........

Weaknesses:
seat belt arrangement is a pain, the back window zipper sucks.

Similar Products Used:
jeep cherokee, land rover, S-10.
