Numerous compartments and storage bins to stow stuff
Very good safety and crash test scores
Cons:
Weak fuel economy
Dated blocky exterior styling
Hideous front grille
Hard plastics make the interior feel cheap
Center stack overloaded with too many buttons and controls
Bluetooth not available with all trims
Ruling: The 2011 Honda Pilot has a powerful V6 engine, lots of space inside for passengers and places to stow objects, and a third row suitable for adults. With lots of competition in this class, there are many other SUVs that offer the same and more from more well-rounded choices.
With 2nd and 3rd-row in use, rear storage is limited
Verdict: The Honda Pilot is easy to drive and provides a lot of functionality for the price. Fuel economy is not stellar since during our week with the Pilot we averaged 15.5mpg (below the 16/22 EPA estimates). Alternatively, the tons of standard features on this model add up to a highly functional vehicle capable of satisfying the needs of many.
