The RX is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in two trims, the 350 FWD and the 350 AWD.
The 350 FWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 275-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. The 350 AWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 275-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
Strengths: Almost identical turning radius to my IS300, power lift gate, spacious back seat, tons of cargo room, stylish design. Also, the fact that it came from Scottsdale Lexus. I have never once been treated as fabulously by another dealership or rather any place I do business. I am a young woman (in my 20's) and I felt more then comfortable walking into this dealership by myself. The service department also upholds the highest of values and integrity.
Weaknesses: None as of yet
Summary: I traded in my 2004 IS300 for this vehicle and am not at all disapointed. Lexus has once again proved their reliability and chic design in this vehicle.

$38600.00
from Ray Catena
Year / Model Reviewed: 2005 Lexus RX330-Thundercloud
Strengths: ride, quietness, fit, MPG
Weaknesses: Transmission issue
Summary: Wy still own the original RX300 with over 110,000 miles on it.The 2005 RX330 is a nice SUV/CAR. It is super quiet and offers great options, like the NAVI and Blue tooth. I test drove the Acura MDX but it drove way too trucky for me. The Lexus give you that car feel and handles great in snow and rain as well as dry weather. I am also surprised at the great MPG on regular 87 gas. I am averaging around 20-25 between city and the highway. The only issue I am concerned about is the transmission. It seems to jerk when you accelerate from a slow speed. I understand many owners have the same issue. Hopefully Lexus will do something for their owners by recalling and fixing this problem

Price Paid:
$36500.00
from Swell Lexas in Dalla
Year / Model Reviewed: 2004 fwd
Strengths: An improved car for the same price as the old one, the best dealer network in the business, usual attention to fit and finish that this brand is famous for, the best runabout for the money.
Weaknesses: In keeping with the new trend for larger wheels like everyone else Lexus has opted for low profile tires. This compromises an otherwise great ride especially when on bumpy pavement which can produce a surprising choppy ride. They should make the the low profile tire an option for those who prefer looks over ride. Sooner or later Lexus needs to replace this old engine with one that is smoother more powerful and hopefully quieter. Here Nissen has shown the way.
Summary: I traded a perfectly good 2001 RX300 for my new RX330. There are many notable improvements. The ride has a heavier feel, more substandial. Its quieter, has more space up front. Improved memory seating which now includes side mirriors settings. They have increased the horse power but it's hardly noticable because its heavier. A five speed transmission vs the previous 4 speed. Overall more goodies for the same price and one of the reasons why I bought it. For me this was as much a financial transaction as a car purchase. The car cost me $4 more each month than my previous payment but the real reason for this move has more to due with the dollar than any great improvement in the car. If you haven't noticed lately the dollar is falling like a rock against the yen. Lexus hasn't changed the prices yet but in two years Japanese cars will be at least 20% higher. Meanwhile interest rates are still low and they will surely head higher when you know who is reelected. So if you're interested in a Japanese car, run do not walk to your nearest dealer.

Price Paid:
$46000.00
from Longo Lexus, El Mont
Year / Model Reviewed: 2004 RX 330
Strengths: Fun to drive, ok mileage (better than anticipated), sporty look, easier backing/parking with the camera in the rear. Don't know how I ever drove without a rear camera and navigation...it's become very addictive!
Weaknesses: The only weakness is LONGO LEXUS at El Monte California. If their service department doesn't CONSISTENTLY screw up minor maintenance issues, I would enjoy the Lexus a lot more. Went in for svc only three times. The first time I went in for the 1000 mi service, they scratched my car at their car wash and reluctantly agreed to fix it after blaming me for doing it. Second time, told the service consultant directly not to wash the car, guess what, washed it again and this time I had their service guy as a witness. After talking to the svc manager, they said it was not documented when we called again to confirm their fixing the scratches as they agreed at the 5000 mi svc. Third time, they had us wait 30 mins (was it vengence?) to get our loaner car while everyone got their car who came after us. (I can't wait to go pick up my car tomorrow and see what drama I run into this time- yeah right!) The only thing the svc consultant said was 'they're getting the car for you now' after confronting the issue. No apology, no remedy (I asked for something that's readily available), just 'they're getting the car for you'!The sales went so well I thought their maintenance service was just as exceptional. Now, I literally cringe thinking about going to get my car serviced. Overall, I would say consider another dealer before even going to them because apparently when I emailed and complained to my Lexus driver/friends who services at Lexus, I found out that I was not an unique case. The dealership is very very disappointing! (I am not one to post reviews, but the last 3 experiences was the worst in my whole life. I hadn't ever had such bad or close to bad experience even with Honda, who's technically a less 'luxurious' class. I am so mad that I am writing to their corporate office tonight and want everyone else to know how horrible Longo Lexus is!)
Summary: The car drives ok. After 4500 mi, the wheel seems to be a little wriggly when driving fast. Enjoy the rear camera, navigation, and sporty look. The euro-suspension is not all it's claimed to be. Basically, it's nothing worth thrilling about. Based on my overall experience with the dealer and car, I would say I would have considered another car with no doubt.

Price Paid:
$40000.00
from Cherry Hill Lexus
Year / Model Reviewed: 2004 Lexus RX330
Strengths: *Looks
*Gas is pretty good
*Dealership Friendliness
*Dependability and Lexus reputation
*Resale Value and Residual
*Safety Rating
Weaknesses: New Stereo is horrible!!! Rattling at times. Lexus has still not corrected that turning radius issue!
Summary: Carol, Medford NJ
I must say, oh my what an awesome SUV. I purchased the 4x4 of course(its an SUV why would someone wants a 4x2) with all the extras but no navigation. Was a bit turned off when I first saw the new RX. I had another RX300 (01) before this and loved it. The ride is great, dependability is key, good in snow, quick pick up, Plenty of "Looks" and more. Dealership is great and always has a loaner vehicle.
