The GL350 BlueTEC is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 210-horsepower, turbo, diesel engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. The GL550 is equipped with a standard 5.5-liter, V8, 382-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 17-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
