Review 1 of 240

Price Paid:  $34600.00 from Go Nissan, Littleton

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE

Summary:
To date this has been a great vehicle! More bang for the buck than most other comparable SUVs, including the Toyota 4Runner.

Strengths:
Great Power (HP and Torque). Best standard features of all Midsized SUV's in the Price Range (28K - 39K).

Weaknesses:
Paint may be a bit to soft... Rear bumper/step already has whip marks on the interior vertical corners from automated car washes.

Similar Products Used:
None used, only researched/test driven: Toyota 4Runner, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Honda Pilot...

Review 2 of 240

Price Paid:  $18000.00 from Auto imports

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Pathfinder LE

Summary:
Solid truck all around with good power, enough room and suv gas milage. unfortunatly I spend to much time a the dealer with it, if i didn't buy the extended warranty i wouldn't have kept it this long

Strengths:
good power, 4x4, handling, braking, fit and finish, and quiet interior, comfy seats.

Weaknesses:
... trany cold, trany warm, check engine light has a mind of its own since i've had it and dealer has never seen able to fix it. 6disc cd player didnt work when i got it(waranty fixed it) and still makes weird noises but works. power windows are slow and even slower in cold weather. seat memory doesnt always work, power seats are noisy. seat heaters arent that good. power antenna doesnt go all the way up or down somtimes. hood latch didnt work when i got it, weird humming noise heard from rear going around 80km/h. front leg room. rear leg room. heat sheild type rattle when engine is cold and more so in cold weather. lately engine feels weak somtimes mostly during first 10min of cold operation

Review 3 of 240

Price Paid:  $14000.00 from Carimex Ontario

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Pathfinder SE

Summary:
Bought this truck for my wife. It has the 3.5L 240hp V6. Fuel economy on the highway is pretty decent. In the city is like any other SUV. We get about 250 kms to a tank of gas in the city and about 400 kms on the highway if you go 100 kph or less. Overall the powertrain is great. Quiet truck. Great offroading capabilities. Lots of ground clearance. Had some little irritances like the power window motors die or act up. The passenger side window will only go up if you pull the window switch halfway. The rear windows take about 20 secs to roll up. Then there is the dreaded window moulding rust. All Pathfinders are prone to this. The mouldings on the windows rust and replacements cost $125 cdn a piece. Ride is kind of floating and doesn't inspire confidence. Emission crap throws a check engine light. Truck runs fine but the the fuel fumes cut valve bypass valve failed. all said and done its still more reliable than our past GM vehicles. Except for the GMC Yukon. That was truly a great truck. Oh and I'm told that our front struts will need replacing soon. UGH!

Strengths:
Strong reliable powertrain.
Good fuel economy on the highway.
quiet ride.
Great offroader.

Weaknesses:
Power Window motors are crap.
Rusty window mouldings.
Front struts.
Emission crap fails and causes check engine light.

Similar Products Used:
Chevy Trailblazer
GMC Yukon.

Review 4 of 240

Price Paid:  $32500.00 from Nissan/Subaru Dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE

Summary:
I live up a very steep hill in Carmel Valley and the Pathfinder has been great in climbing that hill for the past 6 years. Also have had daily newspaper routes for 5 of those years and the Pathfinder was wonderful. Now at 145,000 miles and problems are happening.

Strengths:
Good power. Good looks. Good ride.

Weaknesses:
CD player stopped working within 50,000 miles. Terrible problems for 3 years now with the "check engine" light. Replaced catalitc convertible to the tune of $1,200 only to have the light come back on a block down the street. Can't register because it can't pass smog. $3,000 into it and it still won't smog and 6 mechanic shops (including the dealership) can't find problem. Wiring problems too. Short the dealer can't find. Doors won't lock anymore on command, put lock and unlock on their own when I'm driving. Lots of crazy making!

Similar Products Used:
Subaru Forester.

Review 5 of 240

Price Paid:  $30000.00 from Canada

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Summary:
I have driven my Pathfinder ChilKoot for 2.5 year and am totally satisfied with it. Great value for a brand new SUV at CAD30,000 and trouble free driving.

Strengths:
The ride is softer than my Maxima. Fit and finish is outstanding within the price range.

Weaknesses:
Gas milage was terrible for the first 6 months. It finally settles down at 20+ MPG on the highway.
