, from Ormstown Year / Model Reviewed: 2000 /C2500 Strengths: Good simple work truck, quiet on the road, turns tightly, brakes nice and firm. Good milage for truck this size. Weaknesses: No airbags. 18 weeks delivery for long box 2wd ext. cab from GMC Pulls to the middle of the road but only occassionally - can't figure it out. A real pain to wire for fifth wheel trailers. Ford and Dodge are easier to do. Windshield wipers stick up and obstruct the view for short people. Summary: We paid $27,750 Canadian Dollars. Would not recommend it for safety sake because it doesn't have air bags and it is not an option. We picked this model because we felt it would be safer having only two doors - the insurance premium is cheaper too, and there have been no side impact studies on the four door models that we could find. But without the air bags - well....
Good truck for farm work. The truck bed height is lower than the new Silverado and Fords, which makes it easier to load and unload. However, Dodge 2WD is just as low. Rides well without too much bounce, tows well too. Turns tight making it easy to backup a trailer into a tight spot. Space in the rear is adequate for children, too cramped for adults for longer than one hour. Seems good on gas mileage empty, about 14mpg (canadian gallons). Similar Products Used: Have always had Chevys. Maybe will try Dodge next time.
