The 2008 i-290 Extended Cab is a 2-door, up to 5-passenger compact pickup, available in one trim only, the S 2WD.
Upon introduction, the i-290 Extended Cab is equipped with a standard 2.9-liter, I4, 185-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. With its 185-horsepower four-cylinder and other appropriate equipment, the i-290 has a payload rating greater than 1,500 pounds and can tow up to 3,100 pounds when equipped with an automatic transmission (2,100 pounds with the manual shift).
The 2008 i-290 Extended Cab is a carryover from 2007.
