The 2009 Frontier King Cab is a 4-door, 4-passenger compact pickup, available in 8 trims, ranging from the XE 4X2 to the PRO-4X 4X4.
Upon introduction, the XE 4X2 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I4, 152-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The PRO-4X 4X4 is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter, V6, 261-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional.
The 2009 Frontier King Cab is freshened for 2009.
