New for 2007
The 2007 Toyota Tundra receives a makeover featuring powerful exterior styling with a thicker body, taller doors and bold fender flares to add to the aggressive stance. Available in base, SR5 and Limited trims, the Tundra has new features including a segment first reclining and sliding rear seat on the CrewMax, lockable and removable tailgates, an optional rearview camera integrated into the tailgate handle, new ventilation system, jointless wipers and a center console that’s so big that it can hold a laptop. Standard safety features include stability control, traction control, rear Automatic Limited-Slip Differential, Vehicle Stability Control and four-wheel ventilated disc brake system featuring four-wheel ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. The Tundra is the first full-size pickup with standard front-seat side and roll-sensing side-curtain airbags and height-adjustable, lockable head restraints for every seat. Powering the Tundra is a 4.0-liter V6 or a 271-horsepower 4.7-liter iForce V8 from the previous Tundra and an optional 5.7-liter iForce V8 that produces 401 lb-ft of torque.

Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Ltd TRD 4x4
Summary: After having four F150s over the past 12 years, I bought a 4x4 CrewMax TRD with Limited Trim. Half of it was I wanted something different, other half is I wanted more power than the F150 to tow a large boat. The major differences from the F150s that I see is the Toyota has much better acceleration at all speeds, less road noise, better brakes, more interior storage space (except under back seat), tighter interior construction and other strengths listed below.
Strengths: Backup camera option for hitching trailers
Limousine style sliding rear window
Interior storage capacity
Reclining rear seat
TRD has better ride over rough terrain than F150 Supercrew 4x4, eats up potholes etc.
Weaknesses: Bouncy ride at highway speeds compared to F150 fully boxed frame. Still working with dealership to see if there is a way to soften dampening rates or something. Very noticeable at 60 to 70mph if you have been driving a Ford for many years.
Poor tire choices, surprised most options are street tires for a truck
No keypad/keyless entry
Navigation/Satellite/Stereo a notch down from Ford
Interior has a bit too much of a plasticy feel
Not quite as good vision behind

Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 4x4
Summary: Is WOW a good enough description for you? I've always been a Toyota fan and I can see why through the Tundra. It's defintely the Lexus of the truck world. Best ride ever, smooth, quiet, good handling, incredible acceleration, everything about it is amazing. I test drove a Mark LT the week before I bought my Tundra, and there is just no comparison to the competition, it rules. I got mine pretty loaded, the Limited edition actually. Heated seats, dual climate control for driver and passenger, the 5.7 liter engine, JBL Stereo (which kicks by the way) MP3 player, the works. The room inside this thing is amazing. I have a little girl and the safety seats fits perfect in the back. 3 large adults can sit comfortably in the back which is quite a feat for most extended cabs.
The instrument panel is just fine, I've seen better out there, but in the 2008, they seem to be making things a bit better quality. Mine came equipped with the dual climate control for the passenger and driver. Speaking of that, the truck seems to warm up faster than any other vehicle I've ever owned. It's around the 25-35 degree mark and it seems to warm up faster than would think, especially those awesome heated seats. Most come equipped with the MP3 6 CD changer, it's just up to you if you want the JBL stereo system which includes an incredible 9 speakers! If you're an audio nut, defintely go for the JBL.
I haven't had a reason to tow anything yet here in the dead of winter, but I do have a jetski and I'm sure it will handle that easily. People already know the towing capacity is amazing on these things and easy to setup.
