Price Paid:  $300.00 from Home theater store

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 MRP-T406

Summary:
I have used the flex 2 by alpine since 2000 and i have never been happier with any other product on the market. I have managed to fry 3 set's of fozgate subs with this one amp. I highly recomend the Alpine Flex-2 to anyone looking to buy and amp...

Strengths:
excellent power for its compact design. The only amp that puts out the power that it says it does.

Weaknesses:
not enough cooling fins to transfer the heat out of the unit....

Similar Products Used:
accoustic, kenwood, pioneer

Review 2 of 15

Price Paid:  $75.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 MRP-T406

Summary:
This amp does exactly what it is supposed to do, provide a reasonable amount of power in a small package. I have it hooked up to a single 12" sub, JBL, and it works very well for filling out the lower end of various pieces of music. If you are looking for serious SPL, this is not the amp for you. If you are looking for an inexpensive good quality boost to your system, this amp is perfect.

Strengths:
Price and quality

Weaknesses:
Power, but you get what you pay for.

Review 3 of 15

Price Paid:  $0.00 from found in basement

Year / Model Reviewed:
 mrp-t406

Summary:
This is amp is great for being so small. im using it to power 2 pioneer 6 1/2's and i have an 8 inch bass tube brideged. its sounds excellent but when the bass tube is hooked up with the pioneers it heats up fast but thats understandible since its not a good idea to run 3 speakers off of a 2 channal amp. With just the bass tube this thing sounds just as loud as my kenwood 150x1 and is less distorted then the kenwood.I found this amp in my basement my stepdad said it was his but let me have it. it has an $80 price sticker on it that looks like it came from a yard sale or something.

Strengths:
sounds great

Weaknesses:
it heats up fast when its hooked up wrong (lol so hook it up right)

Similar Products Used:
kenwood 150x1 unsure of the model

Review 5 of 15

Price Paid:  $30.00 from a parking lot(not st

Summary:
I use it to power a "12 inch Kicker Comp. I know it doesnt have ample power to do the job, but its all i have right now. And actually its not doing too bad right now. I also have some advice for regal. think about this, the amp is 60w per channel. your stereo is probably 50. its obviously not going to make much of a difference. and i doubt an MTX will "blow" it away unless your alpine is already "blown", or you hooked it up wrong(or have bad connections).

Strengths:
Good power for the money

Weaknesses:
only 120w :(

Similar Products Used:
kenwood kac-829 amp, 300wx1 RMS, powers one kicker comp vr(loud)
