  • requires 10-gauge power and ground leads wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
  • selectable high-pass/low-pass crossover at 80 Hz, 18 dB/octave (2 separate crossovers, one for channels 1 & 2, another for channels 3 & 4)

  • tuned Bass EQ (0-12 dB bass boost at 50 Hz) for channels 3 & 4

Strength:

Small! decent sound. significant improvement to head unit! Easily worth the $75 price.

Gets 5 rating overall due to price

Weakness:

Will distort a bit at ultra loud volumes, but you'll end up deaf if you do this regularily!

Just picked this up used on e-bay for $75 including shipping. Big upgrade compared to amp section in head unit. Not going to shatter and glass, but plays loud enough and clean enough for most "normal" people who want to retain thier hearing when they are older.

Similar Products Used:

Only head units in car, but boat loads of high end home audio.

Model Reviewed: MRP-F240

Strength:

Enough volume to require limited usage of the volume dial!! Enough quality to make me want to spend countless hours in my car!!

Weakness:

None......If you can afford....BUY :)

I have this installed running 2 x Alpine SPS-690's (6x9's) rear speakers. The Alpine CDA-9815 head unit runs the other four small speakers in my car. This set-up works really well for me. I know others would say "where's the sub?" but I just wanted an elegant system with adequate ballsy, yet smooth, clean, bass. I got it :)
