Summary:
This amp is great! I use it to power a 12" Alpine type R Sub, and It packs a punch considering its size and rating! Build quality is superb, and setup is a hoot. I would reccomend this amp to anybody wanting a good-sounding, simple and quality amp/sub setup. I didnt know if it would be powerfull enough to work the type R sub hard, but it shakes my wing mirrors just fine!

Strengths:
sound quality at 4 ohms extremely underated power reliability (never once cut off or even got hot to the touch) great crossover and bass eq, not boomy like most gold plated inputs, only the best. preamp outputs for easy wiring ultra clean even at extreme volume

Weaknesses:
you kidding?? this thing is a tank.

Summary:
first had it powering front MB quart components and boston 6X9s. bass eq sounded great at flat, and gains only needed to be at 1/4 to max out all 4 speakers with clean power. i now have two, one for the front speakers and the other for the rears. the difference in sound quality at 4 ohms as opposed to 2 is huge. gains are only at 1/6 now, and the max volume is a force to be reckoned with even without a sub. my bass response greatly improved, front speakers are crossed over at 50 hz and rear speakers are full range with a 35hz subsonic filter. V12 amps are the cleanest amps for the money, and i got two perfect 1 month old amps for 150, best money i ever spent. add in two alpine type R 12s and an MTX 6500D, alpine cda-7894 cd receiver, ERE-G180 11 band eq, best rockford RCAs i take the long way everywhere now.

had orion cobalt amp CS150.2 before, supposedly 75 X 2 or 300 watts, but the alpine which was rated at 40 X 2 or 160 X 1 had much more power and was a hundred times cleaner. also had a pioneer 4 chann

Strengths:
Superb power for your highs. Was pushing 4 Boston 6.5''s and two Kicker 15" squares, and that turned quite a few heads. Now it powers the 4 6.5''s and 2 Boston 5x7''s, and the clarity, imaging, and just plain volume (over 45 watts per channel RMS) is unparalled. You''ll blow away most of the competition--if not in volume (which you probaly will) then at least with clarity. Which is what us audiophiles are after anyway, isn''t it? By the way, it DOES have pre-amp outs.

Weaknesses:
The best performance probably requires an Alpine head unit. But I''ve heard very above average results off of other quality units (Pioneers, etc.)

Summary:
This amp is incredibly clear (although part of it has to do with my competition head unit). The fact that it has a 4 volt input option (to coincide with Alpine Cd players) means it automatically sets the gain, and there''s no distortion even when I turn it all the way up.

Summary:
Awesome amp. Puts out more power than it is rated for. This amp is the perfect size to power a set of 6x9's. I have it hooked up to some mb quart 6x9's and they sound fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone else in the market for this type of amplifier.

Summary:
This amp is the best amp ever made. The size is not to big but it powered my 10" JL W3 subwoofer and all of my speakers with no prob. The amp is alpine I mean come on Alpine has alwas been the best. I give this amp a really good rating I definitly recommend this amp.
