from Hot Shop-Brazil Year / Model Reviewed: MRV-F407 / 2001 Strengths: Clean and pure sound, really powerful. 4 built-in variable crossovers LP and HP at 50Hz-400Hz or 1kHz-8kHz (x20); 2 for front and 2 for rear channels, which can provide BP (band-pass)config when LP+HP are both active. Weaknesses: None, except for the lack of a HP subsonic xover, but it makes no difference if you have a separate amp for the subwoofer, as I do. Summary: Cleanest sound, comparable only to $900+ amps. Really powerful, and do not believe in the specs sheet, Alpine is one of the few (if not the only) manufacturer that delivers MORE power than advertised.
I love those amps from Xtant, but I can tell you the first time I heard this V12 I was really impressed and thought Alpine could price it much higher if they wanted (like Xtant do)-hope noboby from Alpine read this...
I have an MB-Quart DSD216 kit connected to it, using active xovers from the amp: 2ch for midranges (Band pass 80Hz to 3.5kHz) and 2ch for tweeters (High pass at 3.5kHz)
It is very simple to configure and delivers great pure sound, even at highest volume. Similar Products Used: Xtant / The old good Rockford Fosgate DSMs
