$272.00 Year / Model Reviewed: 1990 Honda CRX Summary: I bought this amp brand new for $272, installing it was a breeze and the good thing about the amp is it has a protection circuit so it is impossible to blow when installing it, it will just go into safe mode and you can just disconnect the power and try again, I love the amp's beatiful shiny chrome heatsink and the autotek "wings" logo, the ony thing I don't like is the crossover it comes with, it leaves room for improvement, it is not bad, it's just I've heard so much better and to my frustration some days my amp plays louder and other days it kicks out less power and you can hear a little more distortion coming out of the speakers, yes I am happy with it but I heard sometime ago (before I bought this amp) PYRAMID (I HATE PYRAMID HAD SEVERAL OF THEIR PRODUCTS ALL SUCKED AND ENDED UP BREAKING, PYRAMID IS A CHEAP FLEA-MARKET BRAND!) bought out AUTOTEK and it worried me when there was a sticker on my amp that said "made in Taiwan" I am kind of happy with it but will not be staying with it, it is currently pushing my Pioneer Premier MID'S and HIGH'S (60-75 watts RMS x4) however in the future I will be switching to 2 PUNCH 800.4's and doubling the amount of Mid's and Highs's in my car I'm going to need up to keep up with the SIX 15 SQUARE SOLOBARICS that are going in there... Strengths: Beautiful Heatsink, Accepts 4-guage wiring, heavty duty fuse, protection circuitry is great and amp has never shut off. Weaknesses: Poor Crossover, does not push clean crisp music all the time sometimes your hear a little bit of static or distortion, then other days (most days/most of the time) it plays like a dream and I love it...
