Price Paid:
$180.00
from Ubid.com Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 777g Strengths: Price- granted msrp is a little high, but obviously you can find these for a steal right now if you know where to look. especially if you aren't concerned that it's a refurb.
Power - 1600 watts rms @ 1 ohm is enough to get most people excited.
Efficiency - I challenge you to find another mono-block that can produce 1600 watts with less than 80 amps of current draw. Weaknesses: ummm...spendy if you can't find a good deal.
Obvisouly it's kind of big as well, make sure you have plenty of room to mount it. Summary: I've long been an admirer of Cadence products so when the chance came to snatch up a few of their amps for a good price, I jumped on it. This is the first fully class "G" amplifier available. This is significant because for the first time the the SQ of an A/B and the efficiency of a class D can co-exist. Not that much of a big deal when it comes to subs, which kind of makes the fact that it is a class G instead of a D useless. But having said that some people will tell you they can notice the difference, and I can tell you that the bass sounds tighter and more controlled even coming out of a vented box. than with a class D. I could be imagining it, but that's enough for some people. Similar Products Used: Rockford Fosgate, Sony, Lanzar, MTX, Blackmore, Aura, Profile, Pioneer, MA Audio ... I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
