Price Paid:
$0.00 Strengths: 1 ohm stability
will do an honest 800W bridged into 2 ohms, lots of watts for small footprint. Weaknesses: VU meters are ugly
the lightbulb used to illuminate the VU meters warms the heatsink. This is a minor flaw however... I unplugged the light. Summary: Mine are the 2002 model, polished heatsinks with black end plates.
Great amp for the money. Wattage specs are over-rated a bit, but unless youre into db comps and measuring every .1 db on term-lab, wattage specs are meaningless. This amp will do an honest 780-800 RMS bridged into 2 ohms at 12.5Vdc. Ive read lots of negative comments on this amp and based on my experience they're just not true. Its a very good amp, and very reliable. I run mine bridged mono-2 ohms and it gets hot playing sub 35Hz tones. For street beatig it gets warm but not alarmingly hot. Pick one up pre-owned on ebay for around $100 and its a GREAT bargain. I got one for $115 and the other for $76, both in VERY good condition.
My only complaint is the stupid VU meters. They ruin what could have been a stunning slab of polished aluminum. Similar Products Used: Profile california 1200
