Price Paid:  $260.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Bx1500d

Strengths:
small amount of current used. Blue led light. Monster power

Weaknesses:
none

Summary:
Damn!! Im so happy with this amp, i cant even explain it. Has a ton of power and and for such a big amp it sucks a surprisingly small amount of current from the electrical system. The blue light that lights up when amp turns on is sexy.. never over heats..hell, it never even gets hot, barely gets warm...go get one today.

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $260.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 BX1500D

Strengths:
Every thing about it.. Very compact and powerful and doesnt get hot

Weaknesses:
the manual but no one looks at those anyways.. and the amp comes with mounting brackets..it would have been easier with just holes in the sides of the amp to screw it down.. but its not a problem

Summary:
This amp is installed in my 97 accord hooked up to two Audiobahn ALUM12X's wired at 1.5 ohms and it is slammminggg. I first had it hooked up to 1 Audiobahn AW1200Q at 2 ohms and this amp blew that sub to pieces (literally). My future plan is to run 1 Flame compression Aw1208t sub at 1 ohm on this amp. I was very empressd with how loud this amp was and how very little power it uses. At full volume my lights just barely dimmed even without a capacitor. But now i have a 2 farad cap helping my amp. This amp will not get hot. It will get warm but not hot. I ran this amp for about an hour at a very loud volume and it was mildly warm. Overall this is a great amp and well worth the $260 i paid for it.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $270.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Brutus 1500D

Strengths:
Great deal for the money, sub-sonic filter, doesnt heat up, remote gain and lights up nicely when it turns on.

Weaknesses:
Its true that the manual sucks but who needs it anyways. If they made a bigger brother with about 2000 rms it would be nice.

Summary:
I had an Maaudio amp for my subs but this amps are current hogs. So I decided to buy another hifonics amp. I have had the hifonics 440 for about 3 years now using it for my highs. The Brutus seemed to be the biggest amp that hifonics makes so i decided to go with that. I bought it and I cant complain about it now. It works great never heats up and doesnt even require a fan like other amps. Havent had a problem with this amp yet. I Love the way the hifonics name lights up in blue when the amp turns on. Right now i have it running 2 12" IDMax subs in a 5.10 sq ft box and its loud.Very loud i would say. My car lights were still diming a little with this amp so i added an optima yellow top battery in the trunk so that eliminated the problem. I know this subs can handle more power so it would be nice if the amp would put out 2000rms. I wouldnt mind paying a little extra for 500 extra watts specially coming from an amp like this one. Its also great that they didnt forget about the subsonic filter in the amp and the remote gain is just a way of giving you control for the amp at the tip of your finger tips without having to adjust it in the stereo. I have always trusted hifonics and i will keep on buying their products as long as they keep on making them.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $300.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Brutus 1500D

Strengths:
Looks amazing, tons of power, every feature you need, including a subsonic filter, thank God. 1500 watts for 300$, cant beat that

Weaknesses:
The manual that comes with the amp sucks

Summary:
I now use this amp and its everything I can ask for and more. It replaced an MTX 81000D that I just didnt care for. The brutus is a beast, it is definatly throwing out the power, my system is noticeably louder than it was with the MTX. Not to mention it has a subsonic filter, something all powerful class D amps should have. Most people who run these big amps are using ported setups, so the need for the subsonic increases ten fold. Gains, and crossovers are labled, and are very user friendly, again something the MTX 81000D and JBL 1200s do not do very well. The way the hifonics symbol glows bright blue is a sight to see. This thing is bumping my Digital Designs 3515c sub very nicely in 3 cubes ported to 32 Hz, The amp is the nest Ive dealt with by far, oh yeah and yuo get 1500 watts rms for around 300$, best bargain by a long ways
