Review 1 of 9 , from new york

Price Paid:  $160.00 from etronics.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 JBL P80.4

Strengths:
.....it didn't get too hot... and the the red light on the logo lights up.....that's about it

Weaknesses:
*sound clarity -muddy and just cheap sounding *power-equal to your best pyramid..no joke

Summary:
ok....i got rid of my rockford fosgate 2001 200.4...for this amp thinking i was going to get more power w/ the same clean sound...and for a good price!...What a grand mistake!...I hooked this amp up and it gave at least(not kidding or stretching the truth) half the power of the RF amp....w/ a cap attached! This amp powered 4 pioneer 6x8's and I turned the gain up all the way....the speakers sounded like they were only receiving 1/3 of their potential....upsetting while at 1/3 was more than adequate with the RF. If your on a budget and strapped for cash...skip this amp and get yourself US acoustics...or any other re-furbised amp from RF, Alpine, MTX, Crossfire, etc.

Review 2 of 9

Price Paid:  $128.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Strengths:
Very solid, durable amp. Stays plenty cool in the trunk, and has excellent connections. Provides plenty of power.

Weaknesses:
Not really a weakness since most people tune their system by ear, but the crossover and gain dials are hard to read.

Summary:
Hooked this amplifier up to my premium 3-way components, replacing stock amplifier that was rated at 40x4, and there is no comparison. The JBL really brought the speakers to their full potential. Now I just need to replace the speakers with 3 way Boston Pros.

Review 3 of 9 , from Australia

Price Paid:  $550.00 from Straithfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Strengths:
Plenty of grunt Smooth unfussed sound. Underated

Weaknesses:
Gets hot. ( under seat mounting not the best for it, 2 door coupe - no room!)

Summary:
I brought this to feed a pair of Infinity 6" Kapppa's with Emitt tweeters and bridge the other 2 into a Sony 12" Sub. Well I was blown away by the sheer grunt for the sub but still having smooth high end for those emitts. Very underated, haven't heard it clip either!! Very happy with the JBL "baby" amp of the series. Sound quailty is nothing short of fantastic! The change was so big in the bass that I thought I had a different sub!

Review 4 of 9

Price Paid:  $170.00

Strengths:
ok if your a biginnerk

Weaknesses:
for what you pay it rip offa

Summary:
What a waste of my time and money you would have to be crazy to like an amp like this. I hooked in up to 4 MTX 8000 and it sounds like crap. Than I got a 81000D from MTX and I set car alarms of 20 feet away. I don''t car what people say MTX goes all the way and I got the system to prove itu

Review 5 of 9

Price Paid:  $149.00 from Yoshisworld.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 P80.4

Strengths:
See Above

Weaknesses:
None Yet.

Summary:
Using a good Alpine HU with Infinity Kappa 63.3I''s in an 01 Jeep Cherokee, and it all sounded great. Then added the JBL P80.4 and was blown away. Massive power to spare, easy to achieve a clean installation, and complements Infinity''s accuracy. Looks as cool and powerfull...as it is. Love the lights.
