Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $200.00 from FutureShop

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Kenwood kac-7201

Strengths:
Highly adjustable, massive power, low, low price...

Weaknesses:
It's embarrassing to tell Car Audio enthusiasts your using a Kenwood amp... that is until they hear it

Summary:
For the record I have always bashed Kenwood. Won't touch their decks or subs or speakers. BUT,I've had this amp for 5 years. I Bought it on sale at FutureShop for $200, which at the time was a huge discount, and was the only reason I got it. This f***in thing is a sub serial killer. In 5 years it's murdered a 12" Kaption, a 12" Fusion, a 12" Eclipse, a 10" Pioneer, a 12" Alpine Type S, two 10" Clarion XW series, and it's most recent victim a 10" Alpine Type R (rated for 1500W max, and 500 rms) in only 6 days, with the bass boost off, and the LPF all the way down. I'm thinking of an Alpine Type X or a JL Audio W7, because nothing I have put it against with ratings that match have been able to handle this things murderous rampage. You can bash Kenwood's decks and subs, but this amp is dangerous, and for $125 you cannot go wrong.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $125.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Kenwood Kac 7201

Strengths:
Cooling Fan. 2 ohm stable

Weaknesses:
none

Summary:
I purchased this amp to replace an old kicker amp that was messing up. I have two audiobahn 12's and this amp pushes them perfectly. I can be heard for about five minutes before im seen. The cooling fan also does a good job. The amp has never once overheated or even got hot for that matter. Well worth the buy, i have yet to have a problem with this amp!

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $180.00 from wild dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
1990 toyota corolla

Strengths:
- cooling fan keeps it running forever - stunning new looks - built to last - awesome power - CHEEEEEAAAAPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weaknesses:
none so far

Summary:
no other similar priced amplifier can beat the 7201!!! the sound quality is amazing, the crossovers are excellent, and its power capability is AMAZING. i have it hooked up to two carpower 10" woofers and i had to lower the sensibility so they wouldnt fall apart. i get mad bass even from my free-air configuration (oldskool corollas are a bottleneck for modding), and that's in normal mode... this amp produces earth shaking 460W RMS in bridged mode, try finding a sub to handle that kind of power! i hooked up this amp with my friend's set, he has the same woofers, only one placed in a ported box and the other in a bandpass box, when we yanked it up the whole car started falling apart and shivers were running up and down my spine... you can find this amp for as low as 126$ on the internet, and that is UNREAL, do NOT waste your time or money on anything else in this class!!!!! (500W rms)
