Review 2 of 14

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Kenwood KAC-728S

Summary:
I have two of the in my car and they power four 10"subs in two band-pass boxes. They produce mad bass and shake my spine everytime I turn my stereo on. They have never overheated even after being on for two hours. I've blewn a couple of subs with them. They must be matched with good subs for maximum sound quality.

Strengths:
Never overheats and produce hair-raising bass.

Weaknesses:
Can't think of any.

Review 3 of 14

Price Paid:  $164.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 00/01

Summary:
I like the amp - working in conjunction with the "45-watt" amplifier in my Kenwood CD head unit which powers two 4 1/2-inch Kenwood speakers in front, it provides me with clean, solid sound in the boxed MTX units given the environment it is working in. Had to use a Monster Cable LNX RCA cable to avoid noise, let it be known. Not a fancy set-up at all, but very nice sound in my work truck.

Strengths:
Powerful; running two MTX TS-82's off a Kenwood CD player, they give ample sound and thump to my Isuzu SpaceCab truck.

Weaknesses:
Thump when powering on - what happened to the advertised soft-start feature?

Similar Products Used:
None - first good stereo in a vehicle for some years now.

Review 4 of 14

Price Paid:  $200.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999

Summary:
I think this is a prety good amp as long as you remember what you paid for it. I ran my sealed single 10" Polk db(300rms) and it sounded ok. Moved on to 2 10" MTX4000(400rms) in a bandpass - even better. Then hooked it up to 3 JLw0's(375rms) and it still is impressing me. I ran all these diferent setups under bridged mode and the amp has never gotten more than warm. Overall.. a pretty stout amp. If you want a very capable amp at an affordable price this is a great option.

Strengths:
It can pound if matched up with right subs..., Ease of use, Price.

Weaknesses:
No selectable crossover, but don't forget - for $170US it's pretty good.

Similar Products Used:
None so far.
