Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $2283.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Kicker ZR-240

Strengths:
very under rated and looks sharp with the silver fins ohh and also the crossover module makes life much easier.

Weaknesses:
its gets to hot enough to cause severe burns and can drain your battery fast.

Summary:
This is one banging amp!! i think it puts out more than 240 watts feels more like 350 but anyways i have this amp bridged on a kicker CVR10 and bumps soper hard but gets extremely hot quick and melts up the wires and kills the battery. i would recommend this amp if you have the power to keep it alive.

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $150.00 from friend

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 kicker zr240

Strengths:
its very good even without upgrading it, never failed me

Weaknesses:
gets hot very quickly

Summary:
This amp is a killer amp...it hits very hard, and you can upgrade it by buyin bigger fuses, you can make it from a 600 to an 800 by inserting fourty watt chips in instead of thirty and if you can find fifties anywhere then it'll be a 1000 watt amp, ya get it? I've used this amp for a little over a year to run two kicker solo barics, and it sounds absolutely terrific!!

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $80.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 zr-240

Strengths:
pure audiophile sound quality, built like a tank and also looks like it too. I really dig the looks. It looks like a bar-b-que grill. 1ohm stable

Weaknesses:
Runs very hot even into 4ohms stereo. Its inefficient and is a current hog, size could be more compact. I guess its big in size because it needs extra cooling.

Summary:
This is got to be one of the best sq amps I ever used. Yes I mean sq, how would of known that kicker was capable of producing some awesome great sq amps. It kicks out some serious warm, rich, detail, transparent, balance sound, and muscular sound. The low frequecny control of this amp is awesome also. You get tight deep controlled bass. I have had a chance to hear many name brands like ppi, fosgate, soundstream rubicon(made in usa) sony es, harmon kardon, carver, nakamichi, mtx blue thunder, audison, tube driver 1500, hifonics by zed audio, us acoustics by zed audio, coustic, phoenix gold oldschool ms series, mcintosh, etc. Just the name alone sounds like a brand for bassheads(no offense).

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $140.00 from from friend who paid

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 zr240

Strengths:
minimium power draw, excellent for the price, tough and tough looking kinda like a tank, easy hook up

Weaknesses:
gets pretty hot, like hot enough to cook an egg on, ok mabe not that hot!

Summary:
i just got this amp but so far it is an awsome amp in every way possible. i have it on 2 12" Logic SoundLab Comp. subs rated at 1000rms 2000max and i mean this amp makes these subs pound. i have heard people saying that the zr series amps require a cap because of the power draw but i have a voltage meter and this is the least power hungy amp i have owned. i recommend this amp to anyone who wants somthing
