Price Paid:  $480.00 from strathfield car radi

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 kicker ix404

Strengths:
Plenty of power........blows the crap outta ya ears.

Weaknesses:
Runs really hot but if you install a few 80mm fans on either side of the heatsink you'll be right.

Summary:
This kicker amp kicks ass,i'm running splits and 3ways off the front channel and 2 12"kicker subs off the rear channel. And i have measured the DB level of my system at 116bd.@50% of the total volume.

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $349.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 IX404

Strengths:
Good power Handling Ability, perfect for splits and 6x9''s crisp bass delivery

Weaknesses:
Gets Farking hot in summer Good seat warmer sometimes feel as though i want more power for the subs.

Summary:
Let me just way 1 thing when it comes to this amp. Its the best value for money you can find. I''ve got two, one running two pioneer 12" subs and the other running bullet splits and my 6x9''s. The subs are crisp and clear. The Splits and 6x9 are fantastic as they can be turned up to high volumes with not distortion at all. The sound is both crisp and clear. 9/10

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $420.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 ix404

Strengths:
a lot of power clean sound looks cool

Weaknesses:
gets hot easily fixed xover

Summary:
this baby honors its brand name: kicker i have this connected to 2 sets of mids and tweeters and a 12" punch subwoofer. of course it''''s a way too big subwoofer for the amp, initially it ran hot and stalled pretty quickly but since I installed vents i''''ve had no problem. it has enough power to drive the speakers i mentioned with an almost clean sound, there is some engine noise probably the installers fault. before the subwoofer the sound was exceptionally clear and distortion free at high volumes. now it is less loud but better balanced, the extra amp is needed only if you want to pop your ear drums out of your head or musicalize your entire neighborhood.

Review 5 of 6

Strengths:
I'm running the top Pioneer 6 inch splits and the lower line 10 inch Pioneer sub and it powers both of them very well. The splits are sweet and true.

Weaknesses:
I sometimes get the feeling it's having trouble powering the sub. Perhaps the lower line of Pioneer subs aren't very good............oh yeah, and DAMN! does this Amp get hot!!! I wouldn't recommend it's use during the Australian summer!! You can hear your skin sizzle when you touch it. The thermal protection kicked in 4 times during last summer. Not good. Needs plently of ventilation or maybe a fan running on it.

Summary:
I love the way it powers my splits. However, having to power a sub (low frequencies) and splits (high frequencies)at the same time really freaks it out. I would certainly recommend the IX404 to power 2 sets of splits or 2 subs (10 inch max.) but not to run one of each. Waaaaay too confusing for it. I think that ventilation may be the key.
