Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $450.00 from ebay

Strengths:
1/4 ohm stereo stable.

Weaknesses:
kills my 3 amp circuit breaker after 3 minutes of listening. needs good wiring and fuses for effecient operation.

Summary:
WOW, have had the opportunity to own a 50C for a few months now. have it bridged to 1 ohm powering 1 12" and the sound quality is amazing. cant wait to throw a couple more subs at this monster.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Shop I worked at.

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1994/OPTI 50C

Strengths:
Massive amount of clean power. Almost indestructible.

Weaknesses:
Only one for the amp, needs to be kept cool. However it needs to be mated with the proper gauge wiring, good connections, a deep cycle battery, and a strong alternator, which can lighten the wallet a bit.

Summary:
I'ts been many Moons since I last installed car stereos, built a box, or for that matter, been involved in car audio at all. I do however have a younger neighbor who loves to drown-out my television with his bass (I like to think of this as poetic justice for all the people I did it to). One day when this neighbor was talking to me about the lift on my Suzuki Samurai, we some how got into a conversation about car audio. It was then that I told him about the 8 12's I had in a V-box in the back of my truck some years earlier. He asked what amps I used to push those 12's and I told him one 50 watt Lanzar OPTI 50c. The look on his face was, to say the least, one of disbelief. It was then that I explained to him that while this amp is rated at 25 watts x 2channels at 4ohms, it would push 800watts bridged mono at .50ohm. I still don't think he believed me. But let me tell you, with the exception of possibly some US Amps that were made around the same time period, nothing is better than the 50C. Lanzar really hit the mark with this amp. As hard as I pushed it, it pushed back. This amp was, and still is, bullet proof, even after almost ten years. I would recommend to anyone truly serious about warping body panels and cracking their windshield, that they try to find one of these monsters. For those interested in just quality sound and not outright massive, clean power for SPL's, there are less expensive amps. Please don't waste one of these for anything less than 150db's and up. And don't bother asking me for mine, I'll be buried with it.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Local Stereo Shop ..

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1998

Strengths:
Massive Power ... Never shut down once ( result may vary ) stable down to .5 ohms

Weaknesses:
Very Big...measures in at 24 inches x 12 better hope you have room in your car..

Summary:
Can you say OMFG .. this amp rocks.. it is rated at only 50 watts x 2 .. but listen up boys and girls .. drop the ohms and what do you have 800watts x 1 bridged... True RMS POWER... This amp just keeps going and going no mater how many speakers you throw at it .. I had 4 12 inch MTX blue thunder ( I know your laughing right now ) but I enter a local tweeter sound off and I hit 154db ....
