Price Paid:  $350.00 from Mom & Pop car audio

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Memphis MCD-1000

Summary:
I first had the MemphisPR1000.1 classD I bought for a $100 from a friend. The amp sounded great. Then everyone started telling me about the M-class. So I got the 16-MCD1000 (1100 watts) thinking it would be much better since the M-class being the top of the line in Memphis. I did'nt hear hardly any diffrence except for the SQ was a slight bit better. My opinion if your on a budget and just have to have Memphis save a little money and go with the Power Refrence Series at least on the two amps I just talked about. I'm not down talking Memphis at all. Very good product lots of power and sound great. It's just I don't think these two amps are any diffrent from the other except for the size of the amp.

Strengths:
Great sounding. Cool looking black pearl finish. Very small and compact but puts out some serious power.

Weaknesses:
Taking the cover off that goes over the terminals is a hassle and the little plastic tabs that hold the cover on will break very easily, so be very careful when removing that to hook up the amp.I know I broke one when I hooked it up and broke the other when I un-hooked the amp.
