Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $220.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 mtx 6500d

Strengths:
According to the spec sheet from mtx it put out way more than it was rated for. I'd believe it judging by the volume.

Weaknesses:
lemon

Summary:
I bought this from a guy on ebay about 6 months after the amp was released. He said he had it for about that long. After about 3 or 4 months of normal use, it starting blowing my rca inputs on my deck. I tried another deck and same thing. Since I didn't have the original receipt I couldn't get it repaired under warranty.

Similar Products Used:
I've owned several amps and I've never had one crap out on me before. When I was yound I had a pos crunch amp. I accidently shorted the case a couple of times and never had anything worse than a blown fuse.

Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
Extremely Powerful, Doesn't get hot at 2 ohms, and is reasonably priced.

Weaknesses:
Really needs a capacitor(s) my friend has 2 1/2 farads one near the battery one near the amp. Is a little pricey. But, hey, aren't most quality amps?

Summary:
My friend has this amp in his neon and this amp rocks the house. I had zero respect for MTX until i heard his rig. he has two Thunder 8000 12's at 2ohms off this amp and it kicks some ass. Definitely buy this amp if you are considering it. It's amazing.

Similar Products Used:
MMATS, Zapco, Kicker, PPI, US Amps (maybe not that good), All the good stuff.

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $250.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Thunder 6500D

Strengths:
LOTS of power at a good price.

Weaknesses:
None that I've found.

Summary:
Simply put...outstanding. MTX is one of the best "dollar per watt" amplifiers you can buy. This beast pumps out 600WRMS into my 2ohm sub.

Similar Products Used:
MTX Blue Thunder PRO752. Great amp but can't compete with it's 6500D big brother.

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $254.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1990 Honda CRX Si

Strengths:
EXTREMELY LOUD! EXTREMELY LOUD! Small amp with HIGH output. Awesome looking! Chrome and black! EASY INSTALL!

Weaknesses:
Came with a broken Negative (-) terminal screw. AMP blew because it was defective from the start.

Summary:
WOW!!! Amazing amplifier! I have 2 Alpine Type-R (dual voice coil 2ohm) and a Lightning Audio capacitor (YOU NEEEED a capacitor!) The amp is putting out 2ohms but each sub is running at 1ohm! THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE SETUP YOU CAN HAVE WITH THIS AMP!!! My car is a 12V ignition, but the capicitor reads 14.2 volts. Thats really helping out the bass! EXTREMELY LOUD SETUP!!!!!!

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
Power, SN ratio I have seen one of these run at 1 Ohm configuration, with a help of a little amp fan! Beats the crap out of Alpine's MRDM500.

Weaknesses:
No endcaps to cover wires, who cares though

Summary:
These amps rock! At 12.5 Volts they are rated 250 and 500 Watts RMS respectively at 4 and 2 Ohms. The one I have seen has actual power of 396(4 Ohms) and 601 (2 Ohms) Watts RMS. Obviously at 14 Volts ratings will be higher. SN (A weighted) ratio is 116dB!!!
