Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $75.00 from a pawn shop

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 XS2200

Summary:
I must say, I've went through quite a few amps, and this one stood the test of time. I couldn't believe how much power it has by the looks of the size. I have my amp pushing two audiobahn 10's and it hasn't failed me yet. Especially here in Texas where the summer monthes can get pretty hot.

Strengths:
The size is great. You can almost place the amp anywhere.

Similar Products Used:
None yet as far as the size and handling capabilities.

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
this is an excellent amp. i have used allot of them, and for its size and price, this one is the best. i have used this as a mono sub amp and a stereo amp. in both settings it performed great. even though my 12" sub was ratted for 400rms, the sub was damn happy and quit loud with this amp. when i used it to drive my 5x7s, i had to turn the gain down passed a half because they were too damn loud. i have taken this amp through hell and it stood up to -40c weather no problem. if you want a good amp and not crap, buy this one.

Strengths:
Underrated power runs cool great sound

Weaknesses:
none

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $175.00 from Private sale

Year / Model Reviewed:
 XS2200

Summary:
The XS2200 amplifier from Phoenix Gold offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to run a pair of 4 ohm subwoofers without any trouble. Mine was benched at 235x1 mono at 4 ohms, but that number won''t change much when you load it down to 2 ohms due to protection circuitry. Still, it has plenty of power to drive my pair of JL 10W0''s. Even after driving hard bass, it barely gets warm. The adjustable bass boost is set at a perfect frequency (45Hz) to get the most out of bass drums. And of course it comes with a reasonable price tag.

Strengths:
-flexibility (2 ohm bridge -small footprint -enough power for 2 10" subs -accepts 4AWG power cable with no problem -bang for the buck

Weaknesses:
-slight turn-off thump
