Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $630.00

Strengths:
Powerful and underrated. The birth sheet was 20 to 30wrms higher than the posted rating

Weaknesses:
Once you buy it, you're pretty much stuck with it unless you buy two separate amps.

Summary:
Again, this is a very powerful amp, especially with the front channels bridged. Very clean on all channels, even the sub channel. Be careful what type of sub you put in the sub channel when brided. My amp blew a Boston Generator which was rated at 600w max and my amp was rated at 339wrms.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $600.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999

Strengths:
Ample power for an all in one package.

Weaknesses:
Configuring the amp.

Summary:
For an all in one package I've been pretty pleased with my purchase.

Using a 6, 4, and Tweet setup at 4 ohms combined with 2, 2 pole 12" subs the system produces 98db maintained a and 131db peak with moderate distortion. Going beyond this levels produced poor sound quality.

When I first purchased the amp it was difficult to configure since the manual is misleading for configuration however a little playing around and it was operating properly.

This product is ideal the individual looking for good sound quality and power handling without the complication of multiple amps.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $700.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999

Strengths:
SPECS@4-ohms:50W X 4 + 75W X 2 ; 200W X 2 + 300 X 1
-Offers good amount of power to speakers
-Can have a complete system with just one amplifier
-3 crossover options
-LPL(Low Pass Level) Control compatible

Weaknesses:
-Heats up fairly quick

Summary:
This product I would recomend to people who are just basically trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. I am currently using this product to power my 3 way MB Quart speakers(front), 2 way MB Quart speakers(rear), and a 10 inch circular Kicker Solo Barric. My Phoenix Gold amplifier distributes a good amount of juice to all my speakers, and I am very satisfied with what I got. Also I did purchase along with this amplifier the optional LPL that Phoenix Gold offers. I believe that purchasing a LPL over a bass enhancer is better because the LPL adjusts the low pass level output from the amplifier. It also costs less than bass enhancers that are out in the market today. Unfortunately upon realizing that I could have purchased my product cheaper, I did somewhat regret that I paid the amount of money that I did for this product. Its not like I'm not satisfied with the product, its just that I could have purchased something else to improve my current system. Besides I did purchase this product from an authorized dealer of Phoenix Gold.
I do intend to upgrade my system prtty soon, and I intend to sell off my Phoenix Gold XS6600 and replace it with a Phoenix Gold ti 400.2, ti 600.2, and a ti 500.4. I will replace my current front set up with either a pair of Focal Utopia 165W + Focal Utopia Audiom 6W, or a pair of Dynaudio System 240 MKII + Dynaudio MW160. My current subwoofer will be replaced with a trio of 12 inch JL Audio W3 subwoofers. A AudioControl EQX will be added as well. When I get this new set up, I will review the products that I'll be using. Will update ya all!
