you guys must be new to the amp game yes i know it's not the best amp in the world but it has the most bang for your buck hands down! my cl800 is running 2 jl w3's and it has no problem puttin up big numbers if your stuff isn't wired right and you have crap subs or wrong size enclosers then you are probly one of these people on here bashing this amp go back to your basics and learn about your equipment first or just leave it to the pros...

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $240.00 from Crutchfield

Strengths:
CHROME!

Weaknesses:
Its only weakness is its power. HIGHLY OVER RATED!

Summary:
I actually have the CL800 and when it's wired in LP stereo mode for my subs, this thing barely lets out anything. My 6.5" coax has more base coming out of it...seriously! I had 2-Polk EX10 rated at 150 rms each and nothing came out of the subs with this amp. The cones were barely even moving. This amp is supposed to be giving out 200w rms per channel. I tried all sorts of wiring with this amp; Even had the Crutchfield Tech helping me out during the process. Still had nothing! Finally I decided to wire both single voice coil subs in Parallel to let one of the amplifier's channel read a 2ohm load. FINALLY! a decent thump! If I were to spec. this amplifier I would GUESS each channel probably puts out 70watts x 2 at 4ohm; 100watts x 2 at 2ohm; and 200watts bridged. When it comes down to it, the price is right. It usually costs a buck per watt for higher line amplifiers. All I can say is do not waste your money! Get something else. Do not let the Chrome and Amp Specs mezmorize you. I judged the amp by its cover. All it left me with was frustration and an empty pocket.
