Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $420.00

Strengths:
This is a powerhouse amplifier serving a smorgasbord of power to five channels. The sub channel produces 400 watts RMS at a 1 ohm load. The other 4 channels are 50 x4 @4 ohms and 100 x 4 @ 2ohms. One amp does it all; one ground one power wire etc. A capacitor is an absolute necessity for this power hungry beast.

Weaknesses:
Its expensive; granted my cost was not that high but if you find one for under $600 bucks it's rare.

Summary:
Excellent product, I really lucked out on the price. It retails for $1,100 and at that price I wouldn't own one but if you're even thinking of a multi amp system check out a five channel amp. Autotek and infinity also make them however, I have no experience with them. If you could find a Soundstream Rubicon 805 for under $600 it would be worth the money. Absolute powerhouse!! Rock on. My value rating is low because the amp typically costs a lot but it surely performs. Make sure you get the ohm load down to 1 ohm for the sub channel.

Similar Products Used:
Few amps are capable of carrying a 1 ohm load on the sub channel. I have used Fosgate and clarion sub amps and they lack the performance of this beast.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $800.00

Strengths:
5 channel amp so you only need one amp to run your entire car audio system.

Weaknesses:
I wish the amp had Balanced Line Inputs like the Rubicon 604 or 1002.

Summary:
My amp is running a two pairs of Boston Acoustics Pro 6.5 and 2 Boston Acoustics Pro 12.5 subs. My head unit is a Sony C90. The amp has lots of great features such as a fully adjustable crossover and a subsonic filter which is similar to the phoenix gold bass cube but built into the amp. The sound is very balanced and needs almost no adjustment. Crisp clean highs and deep responsive bass. If you want a great sounding system this is the amp for you. If you are a bass freak the amps 400 watt sub channel probably wont be enough power for you.

Similar Products Used:
Soundstream MC245 (240watts) less features but same great sound quality. I have used kenwood, pioneer, mtx, rockford, pheonix gold and none of these amps compare to the sound quaility of soundstream. Soundstream is up there with a/d/s and memphis audio.
