Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 XTA720.4

Summary:
A high current amp. Comared to the Sony's and Pioneers this amp has serious depth to the sound. THe sound is very full not thin and bright. Im using it to power focal components and an illusion sub. Very clean, low distortion and slams tight bass. The only downside is that the treble does not provide the insight that my Alpine V12 did but then its mid-range (lower mids) is superior. The treble seems little rolled of but this amp makes it up in the mids and bass. VERY good amp. Shut your eyes and buy it.

Strengths:
Deep sound, clean, powerful, controls, tight bass, drive (can easily drive difficult speakers)

Weaknesses:
Treble does not have the insight provided by an Alpin but that is hardly a weakness.

Similar Products Used:
Alpine V12, JBL, Sony, Pioneer

Price Paid:  $174.00 from Electronic Giant via

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 XTA 720.4 4 channel amp

Summary:
Used to power interior speakers. I have a pioneer head unit that has a crossover so this amp only recieves frequencies above 80 hertz and is set to amplify the full range of the sound. Front speakers are MB Quart components and rears are Pioneer 3 ways. This amp makes these speakers sound crystal clear. 90 watts RMS x 4 channels 180 watts Max x 4 channels Awesome appearance. Clean and uncluttered. Huge aluminum heat sink with machined edges. Plenty of input and control options. Heavy duty powerful amp.

Strengths:
1- Plenty of power for interior speakers 2 - Plenty of adjustments and flexibility in installing 3 - Clean power - sounds great. 4 - Speaker wire and power lead connections allow for huge wires. 5 - Awesome looks and design - clean and uncluttered design. 6 - It weighs a ton!!! The heat sinks are GINORMOUS 7 - Never heard any distortion even at high volume - clean and clear power

Weaknesses:
I don't know of anything to list as a weakness. This amp has performed awesome. Works great and easy to setup. It is big but not when compared to other amps in its quality range.

Similar Products Used:
I have used sony and bazooka amps, but not to power my interior speakers before. This is my first interior speaker amp and I am sure I chose wisely. This amp is wicked.
