from Electronic Giant Year / Model Reviewed: 2004 XTA 880.2 Strengths: 1 - 220 watts RMS into each channel at 4 ohms.
2 - Heavy duty heat sinks
3 - Capacity for large power wires and speaker wires
4 - HPF/LPF and full range filter allow you to tweak the input signal and output it the way you want.
5 - Clean and powerful - does not overstate the power it can deliver like Sony and other cheap amps. I would put this amp up against any similar sony 2 channel amps boasting 800 watts max power any day.
6 - hits like a freight train when used as a sub amp Weaknesses: No true weaknesses except it is a little large. It is comparable in size to ther amps that are of similar quality. Of course you can find a sony amp that promises the power of this amp that is way smaller, but the sony will not deliver, this one does. Summary: 880 max watts into 2 channels - 220 watts RMS into each channel with 440 watts max power into each channel.
I bought the XTA 880.2 to upgrade my sub amp from a cheap monoblock amp. I wanted something that was quality. This amp is definitely quality. It is kind of big, but not when compared to other amps with similar quality. It has an awesome finish, and the heat sinks are GINORMOUS. The amp looks great, simple and clean with huge aluminum heat sinks. I power two 10" subs with this amp and it totally kicks. The sound is tight and clean with plenty of reserve power. It seams you can turn it up and up and it just hits harder and harder. Similar Products Used: Sony and Bazooka amps
