Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $30.00 from EBAY(USED)

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 V117SX

Summary:
WHEN I FIRST HOOKED THIS AMP UP I WAS NOT IMPRESSED. THE NEXT DAY I MESSED WITH THE SETTINGS AND I GOT IT TO SOUND A LITTLE BETTER.I WAS USING IT BRIDGED TO A 12" SUBWOOFER.I DIDN'T TEST IT ON ANY OTHER SPEAKERS.AS FOR THE BASS RESPONSE,I GUESS IT WAS O.K.I THINK THIS IS THE LOWEST PRICE AMP THAT VISONIK SELLS SO I MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF WITH A HIGHER WATTAGE FOR MY APPLICATION.MY SMALL JENSEN AMP(A1000) SOUNDED BETTER FOR BASS.THE PRICE WAS RIGHT.THE CONNECTIONS REQUIRE A ALLEN WRENCH .I THINK THIS IS AN AVERAGE AMP.

Strengths:
CONNECTIONS ARE EXCELLENT.

Weaknesses:
POWER OUTPUT

Similar Products Used:
JENSEN A1000

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $30.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 VS117SX

Summary:
an impressive amp for its size, the VS117SK can power a couple of 12's surprisingly well, with very little clipping and no distortion. not to mention how well it powers full range speakers as well. it outperforms many other amps in its price range, and seems quite cool running and stable.

Strengths:
good power for a 400W max rated amp

Weaknesses:
not the biggest brand name

Similar Products Used:
various pyramid, dual and pioneer amps, all along the "cheaper" end of the spectrum
