Review 2 of 3
Price Paid:
$179.00 Strengths: This is an amazing deck. The display is bright and beautiful. It has the ability to control an external DSP processor, as well as multiple CD changers and Clarion video gear. The sound quality is terrific. However, if you bypass the internal amp and use outboard amps, the quality is downright incredible. Weaknesses: It's a cassette deck, and you must buy a CD changer to listen to CDs. I have had terrible luck with Clarion CD changers (two different models). They skip like crazy. Summary: I would recommend this deck to anyone. Crutchfield is clearing them out to make room for the new models. If you can get your hands on it for under $300, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it. Similar Products Used: Clarion 9170 Cassette deck- top of the line 1997 deck. This new deck beats the old deck in terms of sound quality, but not in features. Granted, the 9170 was a $650 unit when it was new, and the 8570 only retailed for $419
