from car stereo shop Year / Model Reviewed: 2001 / 4502 Strengths: Cute. No... really... I like the Uncluttered display - no spinning, flashing, swirling multi-colored CRAP -- "just the fact's Ma'am" -- Track #, volume level, etc. That's mainly why I bought it - most everything out there (including Alpine, to my utter dismay) has completely idiotic displays, apparently designed for the average intelligence & attention spans of 19-year old American dimwits. Weaknesses: Radio reception - terrible.
Controls - not intuitive, not well-labeled.
Clock does not display time when unit is off.
ESPN security - too complex, user unfriendly. Summary: The sound is pretty clean, it's going through a big amp into 6+1 speakers. Tape player works okay, no flutter. Radio reception is pitifully bad, however, in the rural mountainous area where I live. The stock unit in my Explorer had a much better radio. the ESPN security is way too complex to use. Similar Products Used: Alpine head units. Stock units in Mercedes & Ford explorer.
