Summary: alright, i say knock jensen if you must, but currently ive had this unit for almost 10 years, no less than 8, and it just now stopped playing cd's all together. its been between 3 vehicles in its life and it was a handmedown to me. considering ive put almost 200,000 miles on my truck mostly with it on, this little unit has served its purpose well. had some error o1s in there, and just earlier this year the volume up button decided to go nuts, but i found the remote again and that solved that. rarely the button on the unit gets moved some how and i get blasted, but its less than 1 time a month. the display sucks in daylight unless the sun is at your back. i admit that. but all things considered, running stock speakers and 2 12" subs from an amp, the little system sounded better than most house systems. highs were alittle shotty but it was stock. expected. just recently...like the end of last month it decided it wouldnt play certain cds, and id fight with the track skip and it would read it after a minute, but last week, caput all together. from someone who doesnt give a '''' less about brand names or icons, in my opinion, it deserves to be retired with full military honors. mine was a frigin trooper.
Strengths: term of service. sound quality. price.
Weaknesses: time.

Summary: I'm glad to see that I am not the only one with these problems! I bought the Deck about a year ago, and 2 months into owning it it started acting up. first it would just freeze in the middle of a song, and I had to eject and reinsert the disk again to get it play. then I started getting error01 every once in a while. after about 6 months it would refuse to play anything but the radio for days ata time. like it had a mind of its own and was LAZY! Now I get the error "No MP3 CD" all the time, and I havn't been able to play anything but the radio for a month now. How can jensen make such a horrible product and not recall it? Too bad jensen went bankrupt, otherwise we could all launch a mass lawsuit on them for selling bogus products. Also it would overheat a lot of the time and stop working. I was impressed with the sound quality and ease of navigation, but dissapointed in not being able to search through a track. I would never buy another Jensen Product ever again. I'm going with kenwood or pioneer next, hopefully the little extra money will be worth it in headaches.
Strengths: *Good Sound,
*Easy to use,
*"Cheap."
Weaknesses: *Can't see display in the daytime,
*Breaks after 2 months,
*Doesn't like to work,
*Too many errors,
*occasionally EATS CDR Discs.
"Do Not Ever Buy This Product!"

Summary: I bought the unit almost 2 years ago to play MP3 cd's on my lengthy drive to and from work. From the beginning it would have error01 about once a week when playing MP3 cd's. Would have to press the reset which cleared out all settings, annoying but tolerable. About 8 months ago started acting worse. No longer had error messages, it just said CDPLAYER on the display but played no music. could eject/insert disk all day long, no change. If you left the disc in, it might decide in a few days to start playing. Finally had not played a cd in weeks, took it back to best buy. Lucky I had the 4yr plan on the warranty. They are giving full purchase price towards unit of my choice...probably a Pioneer.
When purchased, it was by far the lowest priced in-dash MP3 unit. When the unit was working, it was great. Had good sound, nice display, was easy to navigate controls, intuitive. I liked the Aux input on the front faceplate, very handy for connecting portable audio units.
you get what you pay for.
Strengths: Good sound, easy to use, good price(at the time).
Weaknesses: Too many issues with playing CD's

Summary: At first I was totally amazed by the sound quality for such a cheap price, but then little things started going wrong. I would just stop playing my cd's sometimes. I mean it would still be playing but there would not be any sound. This was an annoyance, but I could fix it by ejecting and reinserting the cd. Then it started to switch to AUX ny itself-once again a pain, but bearable. Now it is a year and 3 days after I bought it and it will not play cd's at all. It just says NO MP3 CD. And the warranty is only for a year from purchase date.
Strengths: Great sound at first
Remote control
MP3 for cheap
Weaknesses: IT JUST STOPS WORKING!
