Summary:
The best from MD units,easy installation in acura ,honda,any import car. Face is little too bright at night but since I have tinted windows its not a problem . Works the best with CD Sound Field Processor CDA 5755 + Alpine AI-net changer can be hooked up simultaneously.Unit was getting overheated when playing on high volume ,can be fixed by adding amp.I wish it could play MD LP2,4 format :o)

Strengths:
Detachable Face,Clean Sound,Lots of options, Compatibility with Ai-Net changers and Head units (CDA 5755).RCA outs.Can be controlled with remote Alpine RUE 4185.

Weaknesses:
Gets overheatead when playing on high volume.High price.

Summary:
uHad been debating between CD PLayrt that plays MP3's and an MP3 player. Then along came the SOny Net MD player recorder. I was sold. Temporarily used it through my cassette deck until I found a store in the city that had MD Decks (only one in Winipeg) Totally satisfied. Love the unit. MD is the way to go for portable and car audio, no skips and media is cheap and small enough to carry

Strengths:
Good sound output, video game like display, removeable faceplate. The looks you get from passengers when they ask what the **** is that?

Weaknesses:
Occasionally have to eject an MD when player has difficulty reading (usually happens after 4 hours of playback)

Summary:
I just love alpine car audio. My mda 7755 is awesome! The sound is great and the display is very colorful and easy to read. I love the eq displays and basic tweaking you can do to enhance the sound. If you love mini disc buy this head unit! I paid $450 for my mda 7755 and the harness and remote were missing which tweeter paid for and sent them to me fresh from the alpine parts dealer.

Strengths:
looks,sound,build quality display,sound, sound, sound! So far on my nasty new england roads no SKIPS on potholes or train tracks.

Weaknesses:
rarity in the usa,no md changer like sony. It is a special order product not in stock.

Only a few MD/CD heads out there. This is best one of the bunch(though Alpine does make MD/CD head with 3-CD cartridge capability for $500 more.
Only problem I think is mandatory for them to fix ASAP is lack of face-plate dimmer.
Recommended.

No face-plate dimmer(looks like video game at night)
Picket-fencing on local stations among buildings, despite sensitivity excellence.
High cost.
Occasional skip on MD playback(error correction circuitry not the equal of home decks).
Runs so hot could be problem for CD's after a few hours of use.
