Price Paid:  $350.00 from On line

Summary:
Great looking and sounding receiver, Easy to install. great sound playing CD's, separate Sub control.

Weaknesses:
Works like crap in cold weather, under 30 degrees you have to wait for the car to warm up to play CD's. remote is a waste.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $377.00 from eBay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Sony CDX-M770

Summary:
I think this head unit rocks hard....however I am having a difficult time fine tuning it. I will probably go to a pro to help me dial it in, but it puts on a spectacular show. I purchased it Brand New in Box on eBay for $377.00 Shipped. Killer Deal. Check it out.

Strengths:
Detachable face, Active Black Panel, 5.5v output, sub (mono) output, total flexability with sound fields, two remotes included. custom naming of Radio stations and CD''s, Built in EQ.

Weaknesses:
Difficult to get the perfect sound I am looking for.

Sony CDX-600DSP Excellent Head unit. Have had it for about 8-10 years and it still preforms flawless. I just installed it in my fiance''s Honda Accord 3.0 VTEC.(I replaced this unit with the new CDX

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $350.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001 m770

Summary:
Before i purchased this head i was considering getting an mp3 deck like the fosgate model or the jvcsh99.. After realizing i would probably never use the mp3 feature i decided to go with the sony for a few reasons.. It sounded better than the fosgate and jvc i tested. It also has a sweet display and it has a ton of features. Some of the things that really sold me were the rotary commander and the 7 band eq. It also has clean 5.5 pre outs that can actually be changed to 4v if needed for some reason.. It takes awhile to get used to the head as it has sooo many sound options its hard to get it to your liking but once you got it there its perfect.

Strengths:
Things I like about this unit are the 5.5v preouts, aux inputs, built in crossovers for front, rear, and subs. Staging and imaging controls, the rotary remote, and the 7 band eq.

Weaknesses:
Gets confused when a cd is scratched... can take a long time skipping past the scratched part, and instead of just playing it goes quiet when enountering a scratch. It gets reeaaally anoying when listening to a good song but i guess i should have taken better care of my cd''s :)
