Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $489.00 from Circuit City

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Kenwoo kdc-9017

Summary:
This is a very good cd player. The D-Mas+ is a good feature if your lazy like me, you turn off your car and the face automatically flips around. You can exspand this unit very easily. Control the speaker wattage depending on the size of the speaker.

Strengths:
The unit is very strong amp wise. it will push most speakers pretty hard without a amp. CD-text lets you name all you cd's,

Weaknesses:
I have no complaints. The only problem I had with this unit is the unit kept shorting out. I to return it 3 times for the same problem, and I went to replace it, and they were discontiued. I would buy another one, if i could find one at a descent price. (not 500 again)

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $399.00 from Circuit City

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
Strong 4.5v preamp output. Plenty of flexablity if you are powering speakers without an amp. Otherwise all the fancy things are pretty much no use. CD-R/CD-RW compatable with CD text.

Strengths:
Does deliver strong and clean signal. Satellite ready. Lots of crossover settings to suit your needs. Removable face plate and hide away faceplate (d-mask).

Weaknesses:
Radio reception is not acceptable. I truely can't get a station to come in for any length of time. Lack of rotary volume control and direct placement of the CD eject button above the volume up button often gets pushed by accident.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $275.00 from wholesaler

Summary:
This is a very good cd player if you want alot of fancy toys and good clean sound. It is very cutomizable, you can change the color of the buttons to green or red, you can change the language, you can change what the cd player does during operation including a really cool formula 1 race. The D-Mas+ is a good feature if your lazy like me, you turn off your car and the face automatically flips around.

Strengths:
Clean sound Good looking Ease of expansion

Weaknesses:
No non-fading rca output for subs If you pay full price for this unit you could spend a few bucks more and get an eXcelon
