Summary:
Purchased this model as it can control older model cd changers from Aiwa. The magic flag malfunctioned in less than 3 months of use. At times it wouldn't open and there was no control of the unit itself. You had to listen to whatever station was playing and the volume at which it was playing at the time the magic flap malfunctioned. At this time the magic flap works but the unit won't turn on. Prior to this the volume control and power control was lost. This is the 2nd cd Aiwa receiver purchased. The first had a detachable face. This unit lost power from time to time and lost memory everytime the unit powered up after losing power. The Aiwa cd changer I purchased malfunctioned after 4 months of use. The unit was sent to a warranty repair facility in NJ as local repair services were unable to correct the problem. The repair facility had the changer for over 6 months before they replaced the unit. The new unit lasted 11 months before it malfunctioned. Cost of repair was over $80.00 plus shipping.

Strengths:
Hi power, BBE, cd changer control, remote, output jack on the face of the unit, interchangable display, drivers settings.

Weaknesses:
Magic flap defect. detachable face defect, cd changer malfunction. High cost of repairs sometimes more than the unit is worth.
