Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $399.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 98 Mercury Mystique

Summary:
Audiophile quality for under $400. Get one if you like crystal-clear sound, but be sure to match it with good 3-ways or components. I have four Polk DX-7 6x8s in the car so far. Adding Polk/Momo subs and amps next month.

Strengths:
Audiophile sound quality, 4V preouts, tilting face, feels solid, very expandable, rotary encoder rocks, excellent controls.

Weaknesses:
Faceplate attracts dust like flypaper - I'm constantly wiping it, that's my only complaint!

Similar Products Used:
Kenwood KDC model from 1996. The Alpine CDA-7843 kicks its ass, hands down. This is the best CD unit I have ever owned.
