Strengths:
The unit has a myriad of different features. The bass and treble control have a wide range. For the average listener, there is no need for a separate equalizer. The three CD in dash changer is very convenient. Having remote control is also a big plus. At first it may seem a little excessive, but after becoming comfortable with the location of the different controls, it's really quite useful. I would say it's even safer that without. The remote control virtually eliminates the need to take your eyes from the road.

Weaknesses:
The disc changer has a habit of getting stuck. Sometimes if you play with it a little bit, it will start working again. But I've had to take it to the retailer more than once for repairs. Make sure you get the extended warranty.

Summary:
Over all, I would recommend it. Make sure to shop around for the best price. I've seen a big discrepancy in price depending on the shop.

Strengths:
I use this head for IASCA competitions. It puts out a nice clean musical signal at 4 volts to the pre outs. At the highest volume setting there is no clipping on the pre out signal. The AINet bus is great for easily connecting all of Alpines addons such as Cd changers and video. It is great to have easy access to the 3 disc magazine in the dash, with a spare magazine loaded and sitting in the glovebox, you have the avility to swap discs on the fly quite easily.

Weaknesses:
None really, although it takes a while to get used to the many features that can be accessed from the control buttons

Summary:
I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who likes good clean sound and who is looking for a competition class head.

Similar Products Used:
I have used single Cd players from Phillips and Alpine but the indash 3 disc unit is a gret convenience.
